Antique Wood & Glass Sterilizer Display Case Cabinet Barber Medical Dental Store
Antique 1920's wood and glass sterilizer display case with original tin adjustable shelves. My guess is that this was repainted probably back in the 1950's. The finish is a dry off-white. There is a chip on the front edge of the base that was never repaired when it was repainted. A lot of people replace the tin shelves with glass. You could just use the tin shelves as a template. The shelves can adjust to several different heights. This case has nice beveled edges with glass on three sides for good display. There are very nice wide door hinges. This very solid display case weighs in at 10 lbs. It measures 12 1/4" tall 14" wide and 9 1/2" deep. The actual interior display height is 10 7/8" high. 11 1/4" wide and 7" deep. This listing is for a Pelton& Crane model OCM Omniclave. I bought it from a retired doctor. Because I am not savvy in medical equipment I had a friend check this out for me who is a physician. She fired it up with some distilled water and said it is in good working order. In the last photo you can see the omniclave turned on and the gauges building. It looks to be in good shape. Maybe a scratch or ding here and there. I did see a small amount of lime or calcium residue inside the water reservoir. I did not take this apart to clean it; I just wiped it down for the pictures. I used to use this to sterilize my dental instruments but since I bought a bigger one then I decided not to use it. Its clean inside and out and even the thermometer is fully functional not unlike some sellers that the thermometer doesn't work. Ideal temperature for sterilizing instruments is at 374degrees Fahrenheit for at least 10 mins. By far this is one of the most durable dry heat sterilizers that has been used by most of the orthodontists I have know due to its realibilty and low cost energy unlike some that's like more than at least 1200watts to operate.
