This is a Reichart U.S.A. objective. Which appears in the American Optical catalog as item# 1736. It is a 100X/1.25 plan for oil immersion. This objective is in excellent optical condition. It must have been used with synthetic immersion oil, as the front shows none of the corrosion caused by the old traditional pine oil. It DOES NOT HAVE a retractable nose. This means that it should be used only with A.O. scopes, all of which have retractable nose pieces, OR those specific scopes made when AO/Reichart/Leitz formed a new company. This objective will screw onto any infinity scope with RMS threads. But if it has a traditional move-the-stage rack-and-pinion mechanism, the lack of a retraction mechanism built into the scope would create a nerve wracking situation. Microscope works great. It appears to have seen very little use. All functions have been tested thoroughly. The only issue is that the 100w HBO fluorescence bulb is not firing. It flickers but does not ignite. I've ordered a new bulb and will include that in this auction. 1.4 NA DIC condenser with polarizer slider. 10x, 20x, 40x, 100x DIC prisms, and BF positions. Adjustable combining DIC prism and analyzer. 4x, 10x, 20x, 40x, 100x Reichert Plan Achro objectives included. I have tried multiple objectives on this microscope. Zeiss 160mm Apo and Planapo 25x, 40x and 100x work well with the DIC prisms. I also had good success with the Olympus LUCPlanFL 20x and Nikon Planapo 60x with 100x DIC prism. Nikon Planapo 10x, 20x, 40x objectives do not work well with these DIC prisms in my experience. Initially I thought all of the pieces were part of one microscope but as I've started to separate items out, I see there are a variety of manufacturers and parts that may or may not be used interchangeably. I've carefully scrutinized each piece to ensure that it was not damaged, broken, or otherwise non-functional(to the best of my ability) The close-up pictures should give you a pretty good idea of what I'm offering.
