Offered for sale is a very attractive Brass& Nickel plated microscope By Reichert. Wein. The microscope is engraved Reichert on the body tube and the foot. There is a retailer engraving at the back of the foot for J Brown Optician, Glasgow. The microscope stands on a cast brass‘Y’ shaped foot with a column towards the back terminating at the top in a compass type joint to the underside of the stage. At the bottom of the microscope is the plano-concave mirror in a gimbal all nickel plated. Above this is the focussing substage in nickel and lacquered brass above this is the stage which has a vulcanite top and two nickel plated stage clips. American Optical Cycloptic Trinocular Microscope+Reichert Phototube Adapter
Here is a gorgeous American Optical Cycloptic Trinocular microscope equipped with a Reichert Phototube Adapter. It looks and feels like it just came off the assembly line. Unlike most used Cycloptic microscopes you see on eBay. This one DOES NOT have scratches, dings, sticker residue, tape, invoice numbers, labels, or other things detrimental to its appearance. This microscope came out of a banking environment(where it was apparently used to inspect checks for forgeries) and apparently has had very little use. The finish gleams. And the Magni-Changer clicks into its various magnification positions with a firm click-no loose knobs! It has a very nice set of American Optical 15X Wide Field eyepieces which are clean and unscratched. The phototube port is protected by its own 10X W.F. eyepiece which serves to keep dust away from the inner workings ... moreof the phototube adapter. The Magni-Changer. In combination with the 15X Wide Field eyepieces and the high quality apochromatic common main objective(CMO) offer the microscopist a choice of 5 magnifications: 10X. 15X, 20X, 30X, and 40X. The Phototube Adapter allows you to connect a camera to the microscope without disturbing your ability to view objects through both eyepieces simultaneously. All functions operate smoothly. It is quite unusual to find a used Cycloptic microscope in this condition.
