This is surplus stock from a local university laboratory. Everything has been in storage for several years but all equipment was believed to be in good working order when put into storage. I have had some trouble finding information on this particular item. Especially since there is no model number on it. However, from the Leitz Wetzlar MM6 Instructions Manual this appears to be a Rotatable Polariser slide unit for Interference Contrast, it attached between the Xenon lamp source and the Leitz Nosepiece Vertical Illuminator. However. The one shown in the manual Says only IC on the side where this one says ICR? The glass(appears to be a prism) slides in to use or out as needed. There is an opening that holds a sliding filter. The filter that is included seems to be clear or maybe UV glass, i cannot detect any color or magnification changes no matter how I look through it. The larger sliding section with the prism like glass measures 42.6mm x 32.6mm. The smaller filter slide is 33.5mm x 3.9mm. In case this may also be useful to some, the main body of the unit is 50.65mm front to back not including the bayonet mount, and the tube is 59.9mm in diameter. Please view the photographs. Leitz Berek Two Diaphragm Condenser This item is in nice cosmetic shape and appears to be working well. Although there is one issue to note. One of the aperture diaphragms has oil on the blades and doesn't look to close down evenly, but still does work. Other than this, all movements/functions looks to be working well. You can see from the pictures that there is some cosmetic wear to the brass.

Vintage Leitz Polarizing (Petrographic) microscope very fine condition, model KM
This offering is for a very. Very fine Leitz Polarizing, or Petrographic Microscope, model KM, serial number 213439, dating from approximately 1923. Condition is truly amazing, especially considering the age- the original lacquer is very nearly perfect, as you can see. The black paint on the stand is near perfect. The rack and pinion motions for the main tube, and for the condenser are silky smooth. Fine focus is fine, though this mechanism uses gravity to go"down" and being a bit stiff from age, needs a bit of pressure aid from a finger for reliable fine focus down. Plano-convex mirror is fine. Substage, their then type"B" is fine. Iris works fine. Stage is fine, and rotates smoothly, and has two clips. The calcite prisms for the polarizer and analyzer are very good and clear, and work well. The outfit still has its little ... morered leatherette covered case, which fits into the cabinet, and in which are held the three objectives(on collars) Leitz Numbers 1, 3 and 6, of powers 3.2, 10 and 45) The eyepiece(30 mm diameter) is 6.3 x m. Thus, with these optics, your overall magnifications are 20, 63, and 283, however, numerous Leitz(and other) objectives, and eyepieces, can be found on eBay so just about any reasonable power of magnification one could desire can be found.In the red box, in addition to the objectives on their collars, are the two objective centering wrenches, to precisely center the optic axis on the axis of stage rotation, and the usual two wave plates, 1/4 and full wave, both looking and working perfectly. Objectives and the eyepiece are optically fine. I do not believe I have seen a nicer microscope of this age! Magnificent for display, and quite functional, essentially as when new. You will recognize that one picture is from a Leitz catalog of that era, the other eleven are of this instrument. The case has had a repair to the back. The holder features and adjustable stop so masks up to 4x4 can be accommodated(minimum size is 25 mm square) The stage also has a pivot point concentric with the attachment screw. This pivot allows the geometry of the mask to be set perfectly parallel with the XY motions of the stage. Theta rotation is regulated by a small set screw on the side of the holder which bears against the side of the stage. On the opposite side of the pivot point is a spring-loaded plunger so the established theta angle is held. Adjustment is possible through an angle ... moreof approximately three degrees. This is a very nice Leitz objective designed for use with their bright-field/ darkfield illuminators that accept 30mm diameter threaded lenses. These illuminators included the MM-5 and MM-6 metallographs(the MM-5 requires special change rings for the 30mm thread) and the darkfield illuminators that fit the Ortholux I(Metallux I) Ortholux 2(Metallux 2) and Orthoplan(Metalloplan) microscopes. The Ortholux II illuminators will also fit the Diavert(Epivert) microscopes. These objectives will not work with later style Modulopak illuminators– the thread is incompatible and the design of the darkfield annular illumination path differs. Magnification– 80x Numerical aperture– 0.75 Objective thread– 30mm Infinity corrected Must be used without coverslip Working distance– 0.18mm This lens is a member of the‘high-end’ series of 30mm thread objectives. ... moreBeing corrected for flatness of field across a 28mm field-of-view index. Ernst Leitz Wetzlar microscope with Spencer accessories.
For Sale! Hi. Here we have a nice antique Ernst Leitz Wetzlar microscope and two Spencer accessories for it. These were my Dad's and I really don't need them or use them. He used them to look at really small rock samples I believe for prospecting. What the two accessories for it do. I don't know or if they work properly or not. They appear to be in good shape and offhand, look like some kind of adapters so two people can look at the same thing at the same time, but I haven't tried them. They look to be in pretty good shape as the pictures show. I'm sure somebody out there knows what they are. They are in seperate boxes marked Spencer, Buffalo NY. The one that has 90 degree angled eyepeices has a 6x and a 10x eyepeice and the eyepiece on the long tube can rotate around. It's in the black box and that's nice. The ... morebrown box is a bit rougher and it has one that is at an angle and has two 6x eyepeices. The microscope has Ernst Leitz Wetzlar on it and is marked No. 291286. I don't know if that's a model number or a serial number. It has a 10x eyepiece and two magnifying lenses. Once is a number 3 and the other is a 6L. I don't know what the numbers mean. You can look through it and see light via the mirror so I believe it will work. The mirror can be moved around and there is an iris mechanism above the mirror that works via an arm. Both the knob sets turn smoothly. It's been used as it has some scratches and paint loss here and there and some light corrosion on various parts as you can see in the photos. But overall I don' think it's in too bad a shape. I know he rarely took it out and kept it put away almost all the time. I don't know how old it is. That's about all I can say about it. The stage features an excursion range of 4.25 inches in both the X and Y directions(ungraduated) The entire top plate moves so the sample does not ride back and forth on the upper plate. The stage has a glass insert so it may be used with transmitted light applications throughout the range of motion. The glass plate is about 2.5mm thick. So the substage condenser should have at least a 4mm working distance upper element(the L4 type 005 element as used with the type 600 condenser base) The stage carrier has a dovetail to accept a condenser carrier, but neither the condenser carrier or condenser are included.
