According to the original company record microscope Number 21994 was taken from the workshops to be sold at Cornhill on the 28th of November 1901. The microscope stands on a equal spaced Y shaped brass base filled with lead for weight and stability. In the centre of the base is a turned brass column which supports the microscope body on a compass type joint. At the base of the microscope below the stage is the plano-concave mirror in a brass gimbal. Above the mirror is the semi-mechanical sub-stage on a rack for focussing. LARGE BEST* BINOCULAR MICROSCOPE R& J BECK 31 CORNHILL LONDON#6222 Up for auction is a spectacular Victorian era Binocular Microscope dated to around or possibly before c1875 and made with precision craftsmanship by R& J. Beck of 31 Cornhill. London- Serial# 6222. This was the top-of-the-line model produced by the firm at the time. R& J. Becks' names, address, and serial number are engraved on one of feet on the tripod base(shown in photo) The microscope is constructed in solid brass with a bright lacquered finish. It looks to be complete and in good working order. All mechanical movements are working well that I know of and when looking through the eye pieces, I see various levels of brightness of light when moving the mirror. I am obviously not very knowledgeable about the technical aspects of the piece) The original surface ... morefinish show minor wear in spots and especially on the stage plate. The mirror on both sides show crazing and dirt, but reflects light as it should. There is no major damage on the brass. It has a little dirt in some of the cracks and crevasses, but a good cleaning will really bring out the beauty! I don't want to clean it. It should be cleaned professionally as it could be damaged. Please look at the photos very carefully and ask questions- I will try my best to answer anything and will add additional photos if there is anything that I didn't already capture. Although there is no box or accessories included, there is an extra 2" lens attached. This microscope was found at a collector's estate sale and I was absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to purchase and own such a beautiful piece that is also such an important example of microscopic history! OLYMPUS BH BHC Binocular Microscope with Case
Selling a Olympus BH BHC binocular microscope need new fuse. Very nice microscope in need of some love. Our testing showed it for sure needs a new fuse. We didn't have the right fuse. But with a lower rated fuse were able to get the microscope to power up. Without the proper fuse we were unable to properly test the light, but it may need a new bulb(which can be found on ebay for around $20) We were able to test the 10x objective with ambient lighting and it was very sharp, the 40x and 100x objectives have not been tested. This would be a great microscope to refurbish at a substantial savings. The objectives alone are worth the asking price of the microscope. Thanks for looking!

This instrument is a high quality article that was manufactured by the prestigious company Leitz Wetzlar and has survived to our days in optimal condition. The microscope is made of black-enameled metal; the finish looks regular and shiny and turns this instrument into a very decorative and functional piece. As stated before, the microscope comes with an electric torch designed to provide light from below the sample plate when watching the samples. This piece comes with its original transformer and works perfectly. Leitz microscopes are famous for their precisión and great performance. We can see the brand name in different parts of this microscope: in the eyepiece, under the sample plate and in the information plate screwed to the transformer. This is a"K" type Bausch& Lomb dissecting microscope. I believe it is a BKW model(or similar) but I could find no specific information on that. Physically it looks very much like a BKT-5( and it has features similar to the. This binocular or stereoscopic dissecting microscope has rack and pinion focus and a drum nosepiece(rotating turret) with objectives having magnifications of 0.7. 2.0 and 3X(the 3X objective seems to be quite scarce) It comes with matched pairs of wide focus 10X and 15X oculars. The width between the straight(non-angled) oculars is adjustable. The view is correct: right side up and not flopped(neither inverted nor reversed) The microscope is raised on a substage assembly or stand. Which may be removed.
