This is a near complete incident light microscope. All it needs is a few objectives. Eyepieces and a stand. It consists of three pieces: The binocular head, vertical EPI illuminator and a course/fine focusing rack with 4 objective turret. Up for auction is this used Bausch& Lomb stereo zoom microscope. Microscope has 2 each B&L 10x W.F. eye pieces and Trans illumination base that is missing it's reflective mirror. Zoom magnification from 0.7x- 3X. Viewing is clear from hazing and scratches but eye pieces could use cleaning. The zoom feature works fine. The microscope shows use with tape or tape residue and a some scratches from use. Variable light works great but the light part is broken in two pieces but could be used as is or glued and taped. Hi.I have for sale a good clean Cooke,Troughton& Simms Binoclular microscope that comes complete with four objective lenses and a lockable wooden carry case.This microscope dates to around the 1950's and has a good heavy body with all of its adjusters working perfectly fine.The optics are fine with two of the objectives but the other two have been tampered with.It looks like someone has tried to clean two of the objectives and have not put back the little lenses back in the correct order.The little lenses all look present and you will need a little patients with them.I think the working objectives are 10x and 95x.The ones that have been tampered with are 45x and 40x(the 40x end cap is not screwed back fully.The rest of the microscope is fine and the stage adjuster works great.this also has a convex/flat mirror and light diaphragm ... moreetc at the base.The stereo view is fine with no double vision etc and i am sure this will be a fabulous microscope again.The wooden carry case is fine and has two keys. The print is an illustration from a June 12. 1880 issue of the weekly illustrated magazine"Scientific American. The print is a wood engraving. It was printed from an engraved wood-block(see definition below) The print is matted in a 10 X 8 inch mat and is ready to be framed in a standard size 10 X 8 inch frame. The mat opening measures 7 X 4 1/2 inches. The sheet is in good condition aside from light age toning and being trimmed on the edges. Exceptional Smith Beck& Beck Best Large Portable binocular microscope 1865 A very nice and particularly scarce Large Best Portable binocular microscope from Smith Beck& Beck from 1865. This is the only example of this model I’ve come across from this prestigious firm before Smith’s retirement. And may well be the earliest surviving example of this particular model. It is almost identical to Allan Wissner’s 1872 R& J example, purchased earlier this year, which is lavishly illustrated and described on his justly celebrated site. There is also a May 26 entry on his“antique microscopes” facebook page with appropriately admirative praise from admirers) It differs from Allan’s primarily in its rectangular, rather than circular stage, and in the particular assortment of accessories contained in the main case. While Allan’s has three ... moreadditional independent accessory cases. All accessories included with this one are housed within the scope’ s single case. This model was introduced. I believe, at the 1862 International Exhibition(see Handbook to the industrial department of the International exhibition. Robert Hunt) and is also specifically mentioned in A treatise on the construction. Proper use, and capabilities of Smith, Beck and Beck’s Achromatic Microscopes of 1865(the very year this instrument was completed) It is in very nice condition retaining over 90% original lacquer. But is unfortunately missing the stand-mounted bulls-eye condenser and the zoophyte trough(though these are easy enough to find) The selenite( slip on the double image prism is shattered(see photo) although the prisms themselves are undamaged.
