When I first tried to get it to start cycling, by pressing the"Start" button, selecting a cycle program, and pressing the"Run" button, the display stated that the cycle would begin when the cover reached 103°C. I left it on for a couple hours, but the cover never quite reached 103°C, so I assumed the system was broken, but then I opened the cover to get a picture of the heat block, and all of a sudden, with the cover opened, the cover reached 103°C, and the cycle started running. It successfully ran through both cycle programs that are saved in the system(one of which is 35 cycles long) but each time I had to open the cover until it reached 103°C, and then close it back up once the cycle began. However, this is the extent of my testing of this system, and it is being sold as-is. It features a Dual 384 Well Interchangeable Block, as shown. It powers up, and the digital display is bright and clear, and it responds to input from the controls. When I first tried to get it to start cycling, by pressing the"Start" button, selecting a cycle program, and pressing the"Run" button, the display stated that the cycle would begin when the cover reached 103°C. I left it on for a couple hours, but the cover never quite reached 103°C, so I assumed the system was broken, but then I opened the cover to get a picture of the heat block, and all of a sudden, with the cover opened, the cover reached 103°C, and the cycle started running. It successfully ran through both cycle programs that are saved in the ... moresystem(one of which is 35 cycles long) but each time I had to open the cover until it reached 103°C, and then close it back up once the cycle began. This unit was pulled from a clean, professional work environment and was in good working condition at the time it was removed, but I could not properly test it because I do not have the passwords to access the Applied Biosystems software that is installed. The 7900HT powers on and the desktop/monitor works fine. The following software is installed: Applied Biosystems SDS 2.4.1; Applied Biosystems SDS RQ Manager 1.2.2; SDS Automation Controller 2.4.1; 7900HT Service Diagnostics 1.7. Again, I can not access any of this software, except the SDS Automation Controller, because I do not have the administrator passwords. When I did run the SDS Automation Controller, it recognized the 7900HT and connected to it, but failed as soon as it tried to verify the barcode reader. There is no barcode reader present, so this fail should be normal. No futher testing has been done. There are some light scratches/scuffs on the exterior casing of each piece from normal use, but overall the complete system is in great shape
