This is a Q METER TYPE 260-A serial 1403 50 KC- 50 MC BOONTON RADIO CORP. This is a piece I bought at an estate auction. I don't know anything about equipment like this. I did plug it up and and the red light came on and it made a humming noise so I think it is getting power. Other than that I don't know. So I am selling it as is it may can just be used for parts. I personally used this unit in an AM antenna system in Alaska above the Arctic Circle. It performed flawlessly. I recently got involved in broad-banding of AM antennas. The standard Delta OIB-1 is really not suitable for this work. The 1606 is perfect for this. Its precise readout allow pin-point accuracy in reading carrier and sideband impedances. The main features are frequency range of 400 kHz to 60 MHz. Direct reading of resistance to 1000 Ώ and reactance to +/ 5000 Ώ. The 1650B Impedance Bridge is a self-contained impedance measuring system. Which includes six bridges for the measurement of capacitance, resistance, conductance, and inductance as well as the generators and detectors necessary for DC and 1kHz measurements. Power is provided by four size D cells or an external power supply(not included) General Radio specifications: Capacitance is measured from 1 pF to 1100 µF. Inductance range covers 1 µH to 1100 H. Resistance range(AC or DC) 1 mohm to 1.1 Mohms. Conductance range(AC or DC) 1 mmho to 1.1 mhos. Accuracy for the capacitance. Parts can be matched to each other closer than 1% using the meter deflection to match. Included with the 1650B bridge is an original General Radio paper manual and schematic with complete instructions on using the bridge along with bridge theory and parts list. There are more than the first 12 at the top. This vintage piece of test equipment has been tested in-house and found to be working. As we are not experts with these meters. We have tested it and feel comfortable that is functional. There may be something we missed so this is sold as is. As seen in the pictures. We were able to set it up and confirm the Q of one of the included Boonton reference coils with a know Q. You can see the the meters indicate a Q of about 200 and the coil tested is marked 200. The power cord should be replaced as it has many spots where the outer insulation has has cracked. The paint has lots of scratches especially neer the edges. The coils ... moreset is complete. By that I mean that every coil listed on the front cover is in the case. 14 total. The case has some corrosion in the bottom. A previous tech has hand written notes and marks on some of the coils. This auction is for a vintage Heathkit Model IT-28 Capacitor checker/Resistance bridge. It contains the following tubes: 6AX4. 6BN8. And a 6E5 green eye indicator tube. I took the cover off and removed and tested the tubes. All tubes tested great! The 6BN8 had strong readings on all three sections and the 6AX4 had a strong reading. The 6E5 tube was bright green in both the open and closed positions on the tester. No further testing has been done with this instrument. So I am uncertain about it's calibration or general working condition. All the switches and knobs seem to work fine and it is in nice overall condition with just a little wear and staining. Here for your consideration is One Vintage General Radio Impedance Bridge 1650A in Good cosmetic condition with some signs of age. But certainly acceptable.The man who previously owned left small stickums on many of the components stating their present functionality. This unit he said was good. Thus far every component he's said was working has worked fine, so I feel confident saying this unit most likely works accordingly. The battery compartment is clean and serviceable and all the switches and knobs turn freely.I just don't really know how to test this unit? Please check out the pics. Vintage General Radio Company Type 1650-B Impedance Bridge
Up for bid is 1 vintage 20KHz impedance bridge manufactured by General Radio Company. Unit has been tested for power using four D batteries and it powers up well. No function testing was done and unit is sold as it is. Unit doesn't have any instruction manual. This impedance bridge is in nice condition. It opens and closes well. There are some normal scuff marks and scratches on the case exterior. When closed. Unit measures about 12 inches x 10 inches x 6.5 inches and weighs about 18 lbs with packaging materials.
