This is a 20 inch Tree Toad brand tree spade. Which attaches to the 3 point hitch of a standard compact tractor. I purchased it several years ago, and have moved a few dozen trees with it. The generator also operates an electric breaker(jackhammer) that is used to pound the spades into the ground. The hydraulics lift the tree out of the ground and tilts the tree forward for transportation. The ring opens so you can back up to the tree you want to move It can be pulled by a riding lawnmower. Tractor or truck with a 17/8" ball. I moved around 100 trees with it. It is rated to move 2-2 1/2" trees but I pushed it a bit higher with good results. The spade did not come with the generator or breaker, which I purchased afterwards. The generator is a Homelite LR5500 which is a 5500 watt unit run by a 11HP Briggs engine. I bought this spade last year in Idaho and had it shipped to Texas. It turned out to be too big for my machine( a Mustang 2060) It works fine although the controls are electronic and the hand control was squished. I had to make a replacement out of micro switches. It's not pretty but it works good. I also put a semi truck type connector to unplug the spade from the hand unit. This allows you to leave the electonics hooked up to your machine and just unplug when you want to use another attachment. Original paint. Electronic controls. Skid steer mount. was on a loader. I should have known) Semi truncated. Very heavy. We can put it on a special made pallet to put on a truck if need be.The measurements are aprox. as I can't find my tape measure. Thanks for looking! This will be a great deal for someone. I bought this 2 year ago with the intention of mounting it to a trailer(they are about 30K new) The cylinders where rusted so pulled them off to order new ones- never did(you could fabricate new ones if you didn't want to buy them from Vermeer) we cleaned up the area of molestation from previous welds, had is sandblasted and primed. This unit could easily have a $300 skid steer plate welded to it and cylinders and control bank added, probably looking at $2,000 and some time to have a really nice spade. It is sitting at the fabricators now and I am willing to spray it any color for an offer over $1000 and for an offer over $1400 I would be willing to weld a new skid steer plate on it too(then all you would need is cylinders, control valves and lines) Make me an offer I am motivated! ... moreIf you arrange shipping I can meet the shipped and help get it loaded. Comes with four digging chanbers, ranging in diameter from 9" to 18" Digs a very compact, need rootbalee that is very easy to pot. We have closed our nursery operation, and no longer have a use for it. It worked well the last year we used it, but late that year one of the control valves lost a spring clip and cap, so that would need to be replaced. Bobcat 44” Tree Spade for skid steer in excellent condition
For sale is a Bobcat 44” tree spade(model number TS44CA) I bought it new in 2010 and used it that year to move 70 trees on my property. Since then it has been stored indoors and is in excellent condition. This is the cone model with a smaller opening at the bottom which helps to retain loose soil when moving trees. All 4 spades as well as the two front gates operate independently. And the compact frame works great for plucking trees out of tight groups without damaging surrounding ones. Bobcat still makes this model and their website contains specs, machine compatibility, and video of the spade in use. The spade is currently configured to interface with the skid steer through the Bobcat 7-pin attachment control system. This allows the user to control the spade from the safety and comfort of the cab and provides for very efficient operation. ... moreIt can also be adapted to other brands of skid steers.
