Classic Edward vom Hofe No.550 Star Surfcasting Reel 3/0 With Leather Thumb Pad
This reel is serial number L441. Which dates it to 1919, according to Bingham's book on vom Hofe. It is in good or better condition, could use a good cleaning, especially on the spool. The hard rubber end plates have some scratches but no chips or cracks. The German silver band protects the tail plate. The sliding oil port caps are stamped"EDWARD vom HOFE/MAKER/N.Y.PAT MAY 20.02" The throw-off lever on the head plate puts the reel into free spool. The tail plate throw-off lever disengages the tension drag. The foot is stamped with the L441 serial number, the model number 550 and the size number 3-0. The optional leather thumb pad is in decent condition. Diameter of the reel is 3 5/8" width of the spool 1 7/8" Line capacity is 400 yards. No reserve on this fairly uncommon reel.

It is an awesome guitar. they are listed right now on musicians friend at $3500 for a used one. i have not played it for about 5 years and it is too nice to be sitting in the garage any longer. it was played mostly in church, never in a smoking environment, still very clean, only some very slight scratches on the back from pants pocket rivets. it is truly a beautifully playing and sounding instrument. it comes with a Warwick custom hard case that i special ordered when I bought the guitar like 10 years ago. I've had these for forever and they still work great- even with 8 spd, with the magical non-shift extra cable throw at the end. I got a little creative and painted the mounts with hi-heat enamel, and the levers with plastic paint and they've held up pretty well, but I've long since gone SS and I'm not likely to put these to use in the near future, so. The right cap is missing, but a beer cap fits pretty well with a little bit of glue. You heard it here first!

Warwick Thumb 5 String Fretless Bolt-On Bass
I am the original owner of this bass. Serial number dates it at July 2000. It has been well cared for and used only in my private smoke free studio. It has minor playing wear. Specifically below the high string next to the knobs where I rest my pinky when playing it. It also has normal wear on the fretboard. It will ship with tapered round strings. But I am including a set of flat wound as well. Gig bag. Polish and truss rod tool are included. I have received a few questions regarding the use of roundwound strings on the bass. Warwick ships the bass with roundwounds. The neck is ebony and is very hard and durable. There are some light marks on the fretboard from the strings. Which are more noticeable in the photos than in person. There is no wear or unevenness to the fretboard. A heavily played 13 year old fretless bass would probably require ... morea fretboard sanding, if not a replacement. Even with flatwound strings. That is not the case with this fretboard. It is still flat and true. And not worn in the least. I did try a set of flatwounds. I purchased two packs of the Sadowsky flats. I did not like the tone as much. Tapered roundwounds have wonderful harmonic overtones with this bass. So I reverted back to those. And am including the second pack of flatwounds if the buyer chooses to try them. Hi. I have two Campy Vintage Handlebar End Thumb Shifters. They are over 40 years old and I have had them in my bike parts box for years. The rubber still good on the shifters, but one of the shifters is missing the spreader that keeps the shifter in the handlebar. My guess is that they were for a 10 to 12 speed with two chain rings. Up for sale is a Metal African Thumb Clave. There are two pieces. The ring that slides onto your'e thumb and the shell which is most comfortable when slid down the pointer or middle finger. When striking the shell with the ring it produces a very cutting, tight, deep mettalic sound. It can be played open with a bit of sustain or closed with a more muffled sound. 8 Note Gourd Kalimba Percussion Musical Instrument Thumb Harp / Piano on Stand
8 Note Gourd Kalimba. The shape of this gourd gives this thumb piano such a rich beautiful tone. It also displays nicely on it's built on base which I believe is the front of the gourd that was removed to make the instrument. It seems to have some age to it but I don't know for sure how old it is. It measures approximately 8 1/2" tall. 5 3/4" wide and 5 1/2" deep. It is a well made piece and it is in excellent condition and plays nicely. There is a number inscribed on the metal bar that lays across the note bars which is 86421357. The bar also has some light corrosion on it that I have not tried to remove. Shipment to the Continental US only. I am happy to combine shipping when possible. A Thumb Bible is a paraphrased or abridged version of the Bible, printed in miniature and generally meant for children. The first known Thumb Bible was written by John Weever in verse form. Entitled An Agnus Dei, it appeared in London in 1601. It measured 1.3" x 1.1" and contained 128 pages of six lines. In 1614, John Taylor published this book, titled the Verbum Sempiternum, which also summarised the Bible in verse form. This auction is for a antique solid brass thumb lever door handle set off a old barn from a exquisite farm estate. Although it looks like a greenish patina it was actually painted long ago and the paint is wearing exposing the brass underneath. The handle plates and thumb latches have a pebbled/ hammered finish look not often seen. The handles have a spiral design in the middle with sets of perpendicular lines at each end. The handles and the levers along with the lock cylinder[ sorry. No key] are marked WELCH along with various numbers on the backs. The outside handle is 12" long and the inside handle is 8" long. The mortise box is marked E-Z MORTISE. All seems to be working on it including the" deadbolt. An English ethnomusicologist who moved to Africa in 1920, spent several years from the 1920s through the 1950s traveling about in rural Africa(i.e. as far away as he could get from western musical influences such as radio, eastern-influenced bands, and Christian missionaries) where he recorded traditional music and documented the tunings and note layouts of the different kalimbas. However, when Hugh Tracey founded the company African Musical Instruments and started building kalimbas in Rudespoort, South Africa, and exporting them around the world in 1954, the note layout and tuning were not traditional. Rather, the kalimbas were tuned diatonically in the key of G, with adjacent notes on the scale sitting on opposite sides of the kalimba.
