John Deere IH FARMALL Mount Plate Sickle Mower No 8
Hello. This is a mounting plate for John Deere sickle mower. The ears on the end of the plate line up to fit the older jd sickle mowers, no5, no8. In pic 2 you see the plate matches the the ears i have on my jd 60. The mounting ears always took alot of wear. The ears on this mount are in good shape and still have a round shape. Think we had this plate on a farmall, but can work on most any old tractor. Hate to junk it. I hardly use the one i got and have no need for it. The thing must weigh around 40 pounds. Here is a 535 ford mower conditioner it was used last season and worked fine. It is an old but useable conditioner that is a 7' cut. We got it in and hooked it up it seems to run out just fine. It is a 540 pto and hydraulic lift. The hitch can be removed to haul it home and be under 7' wide. Loading is free and I can load this on anything you bring over. Excellent guards, and the inside and outside shoes are in really good shape. The belt is same as new. The pto shaft and u-joints are in perfect condition. All of the pivot points throughout the machine are in really good shape. I take advantage of a machine like this when I get one in and mow my banks and anything that requires a lot of angle out of the bar. This is what you call a balanced head machine. Which means that it will cut in any position. It is in shape and is absolutely ready to go cut hay. If you are looking at this mower, you might have already been to your local dealership and found that they are not scared to ask $2000 to $2500 for one similar to this that is more than likely a worn out trade-in. ... moreI have personally gone through this machine, used it, and it will no doubt be one of the smoothest running machines that I sell in 2013. You can get a good view of the condition of the sickle in picture#7. I keep about ten or twelve feet on each side of my lane and about five acres mowed down real nice. I let it grow up to about five to seven inches tall and I cut it down to about three inches tall with these mowers. I am pointing this out because if you have ever used a sickle mower. You know that it is not an easy task to get one to cut grass that is only five inches tall. When you have one that will cut like that, it makes it very versatile. Pictures#11 and12 show it mowing along a pretty steep pond bank. It will go lower than that and it will operate straight up in the air. McCormick Deering No 6 Horse Drawn Sickle Mower Gear Box Covers
This is a cast iron gear box cover and a sheet metal gear cover for a McCormick Deering# 6 horse drawn mower. The cast iron cover is in great condition and comes with hinge pin. The sheet metal gear cover has some rust out on the the front edge. It comes with its mounting brackets and bolts and nuts. The rusted out area could be cut off and would not be noticeable due to the fact that it wraps around underneath the large gear. The rest of it is in solid shape. Both pieces are covered in surface rust and I have made no attempt to clean them up.

Original Bolans sicklebar assembly. I have to say it looks like very little hours on this bar If any use at all It looks like it was never used by honestly can't say. If you look at the rock guards there is no wear on them. I took it apart a couple years ago but Segments didn't look like they were even used. The sheet metal pulleys have a little bit of rust. one has a couple holes in it but they are readily available as they are just standard. I reprinted in original manual for this sicklebar so you can see exactly how it mounts and is adjusted I honestly believe this is a rare unit I have had Bolens for a long time and have only come upon a couple of these.
