The upper pully has a rubber damper that is also bad. I believe. But I am not sure, that this would mow again with just this little bit repaired. The rolls have missing rubber on them but seemed to crimp and dry the hay OK. I had tack welded the ends of the rolls to the bearings because they would not hold and rolls would go out of time. If you have this same mower this would be good for parts. This mower sold as is. Good Luck and thanks for looking.

New Holland 492 hay mower conditioner - 9ft cut, stub guards - used last year
You are viewing a used New Holland model 492 mower conditioner I have for sale. I bought this at a local farm auction. The farmer that sold it used it last year and it worked great mowing his hay. It cuts a swath 9 feet wide and it has two rubber coated rollers that condition the hay as it passes through them. It has a good looking sickle and stub type guards. I hooked it to my tractor when I got it home and engaged it and it runs very. Very smoothly. It just sits there and hums. The belts and sprockets all look good and the whole thing looks to have been well taken care of. It is missing some of the rubber on the top roller. The farmer stated that it had lost the rubber pieces. But it still did a good job mowing. I checked with my local New Holland dealer and a new top roller is between $1500.00 and $1700.00 depending on freight to get it ... morehere. The bottom roller looks excellent, I have no idea why the top roller lost the rubber when it did. The local dealer said that it happens sometimes, but that there was no need to replace the bottom roller, it is in very good condition. If it does not sell on here, I am going to replace the top roller myself, or just use it the way it is. There is a tag on the side that reads that the serial number is 825275 and it is a model 492. You might check with your local dealer and see what kind of price he can give you on a new roller. If you look online, these mowers sell for between $4000 and $8000.00. I am selling this one cheap enough that you can install a new roller and still have a bargain of a mower. It is in very good condition except for the top roller. I towed it home behind my pickup 40 miles and it pulled great at 60 mph. The bearings and tires are good. If you don't want to tow it home. Here is a John Deere 1219 MOCO mower conditioner. It is a good conditioner that i9 a 7' cut. We got it in and hooked it up and did some mowing with it and it seems to run out just fine. New Holland 451 Sickle Bar Mower 3 Point Hitch Hay Lawn 450 Sperry Rand Cycle
You are bidding on a New Holland 451 sickle mower with a 7' bar. It is in 100% ready to go condition. It has a great sickle. Really good guards, and the inside and outside shoes are in really good shape. It has a new belt. The pto shaft, pto shaft guards, and u-joints are in good condition. All of the pivot points throughout the machine are in really good shape. I take advantage of a machine like this when I get one in and mow my banks and anything that requires a lot of angle out of the bar. This is what you call a balanced head machine. Which means that it will cut in any position. It is in shape and is absolutely ready to go cut hay. If you are looking at this mower, you might have already been to your local dealership and found that they are not scared to ask $2000 to $2500 for one similar to this that is more than likely a worn out ... moretrade-in. I have personally gone through this machine, used it, and it will no doubt be one of the smoothest running machines that I sell in 2013. The section shown in picture# 10 is the condition of the entire sickle. Take a good look at picture# 7. You will see a bracket with a pulley bolted to it and a cable running around the pulley. This bracket has been broken off or is almost broken off, on 50% of the mowers that I buy, as well as the bracket shown at the center of the picture that has the large spring attached to it. I am basically pointing this out because the ones on this machine are not and have never been broken. This mower is in really good condition. I keep about ten or twelve feet on each side of my lane and about five acres mowed down real nice. I let it grow up to about five to seven inches tall and I cut it down to about three inches tall with these mowers. I am pointing this out because if you have ever used a sickle mower. You know that it is not an easy task to get one to cut grass that is only five inches tall. When you have one that will cut like that, it makes it very versatile. International 1300 Sickle Bar Mower 3 Point Hitch Hay Lawn Cycle IH Mounted
You are bidding on an International 1300 sickle mower with a 7' bar. It is in 100% ready to go condition. It has a good sickle. Just about new guards, and the inside and outside shoes are in really good shape. It has a new belt. The pto shaft, pto shaft guards, and u-joints are in good condition. All of the pivot points throughout the machine are in really good shape. I take advantage of a machine like this when I get one in and mow my banks and anything that requires a lot of angle out of the bar. This is what you call a balanced head machine. Which means that it will cut in any position. It is in shape and is absolutely ready to go cut hay. If you are looking at this mower, you might have already been to your local dealership and found that they are not scared to ask $2000 to $2500 for one similar to this that is more than likely a ... moreworn out trade-in. I have personally gone through this machine, used it, and it will no doubt be one of the smoothest running machines that I sell in 2013. The section shown in picture# 9 is the condition of the entire sickle. If it had the shield on the back, it would be about perfect. The idler pulleys on the belt are in good shape too. I have used this thing around here about every four or five days for two weeks now and this mower is in really good condition. I keep about ten or twelve feet on each side of my lane and about five acres mowed down real nice. I let it grow up to about five to seven inches tall and I cut it down to about three inches tall with these mowers. I am pointing this out because if you have ever used a sickle mower. You know that it is not an easy task to get one to cut grass that is only five inches tall. When you have one that will cut like that, it makes it very versatile. Pictures#11 and12 show it mowing along a pretty steep pond bank. It will go lower than that and it will operate straight up in the air. This mower worked great for us. We are able to upgrade to a mower-conditioner and I have a brush hog for the fields we don't harvest- so we don't need this one. It is an International 1300 sickle mower with a 7' bar. It is ready to go. In fact I have used it this year. It has BRAND NEW KNIVES on the sickle bar last year. Guards. Shoes, PTO shaft, U-Joint, belts and lift are all also in great shape. This mower has all the guards in place. If you are looking for something to cut a field. Cut your ditch bank, or to cut Hay for crop, this mower is READY TO GO. The IH 1300 is very user friendly to maintain having bolts and nuts to replace the knives(no rivets) and a belt drive. Knives can be replaced 1 at a time if needed. COMES WITH SPARE KNIVES, and some bolts. It connects up to your 3-point hitch easy, folds up for travel, and swings ... moredown with ease. The lift arm operates VERY EASY compared to the ford, or other mowers that have a contraption of chains to lift and lower the mower and cutter. It is a balanced head mower and you can adjust the height and the feet to cut real nice and level. The IH 1300 is sought out because the gear-box is on the knife assembly which allows you to mow up in a 90 degree angle and over-center into your ditch at up to a 70 degree angle. VERY COOL! we had a Massey Ferguson tractor and sold i think the sickle mower was a part of and has always been stored inside the barn. The mower looks to be very rusted where the blades are there are a couple of teeth that are broken but i do have 2 other blade bars. The wooden drive shaft is also broken at the sickle end and is a basic maintenance item. I am not also sure about the model number. I really dont no anything about farm equipment i do no about auto mechanics and this mower can be fixed to fun it is still use able. I have never used this mower before. The all-important urethane on the roller conditioners is in very good condition as you can see from the photos. Haybine needs a good powerwash to make it look excellent. Here is a Vermeer 275 disk Mower conditioner that works good. It is a 9' cut. This mower conditioner works good. The hitch can be removed and it will load and be 8'6" wide on a trailer. Loading is free and I can load this on anything you bring over. Vintage International Harvester 988. 7’ Hay Mower Sickle Bar INV7080 Here we have a mowing bar. I can make out CASE IH with a diamond on some of the teeth and they are still sharp. And the mounting bar is marked 640607 and has some other numbers I can’t make out. It is 90” long and the hole at the end takes a 1” shaft. When I got it someone had written IH 7’ 998 Hay Bar. It is in very good condition. Please note that most of the items I have for sale are used/vintage goods. You should expect some wear or minor imperfections. 17 New mower teeth. 3 inches in width and 3 1/4 inches long. Ground to sharp edge and serrated. Purchased from International Harvester. Still in the box. Also have steel rivets for fastening to sickle bar. Rivets are 1 inch and 1/2 inch in length. I purchased these many years ago and have not used. I no longer have a tractor. The box lists these knife sections as M22831.
