It is approx. 18 ½ inches long and 5 ¼ inches in diameter on the reservoir. It has a wooden handle and the spray part is brass and the reservoir is copper. The surface of the item is in very good shape. There is some normal wear and surface scratches, but the metal needs to be shined. This sprayer has a wooden handle that you can pump. This is a vintage(maybe antique) canister to be used as a backpack with a sprayer hose/pump. It looks along the lines of the Indian Fire Extinguishers, although whether it was used for water or bug spray or fertilizer, I'm not certain. There is a little crate at the top, maybe for fumes or to strain something. The container some words on it, which look Italian. The front says"Superiore Marca Di Garanzia G.A.N. The top says"G.A.N. Brevettata" The top 3/4 of it is copper with a lovely natural patina to it, and the bottom quarter looks like steel. The top has an opening to attach a hose, and there is another little nozzle at the base. ... moreThis thing is so cool! There are little metal parts on the back to attach straps to turn it into a backpack. You could be a Ghost Buster with this thing. This is in good shape for its age! As I said. The copper has aged into a lovely patina, which I consider a good thing. The steel at the bottom has some oxidation, there is some on the underside of the bottom too. There are a couple of small dings and discolorations. Overall she's still in good shape. This would make a excellent display piece since it doesn't have the pump style handle or hose. This is a great looking Vintage portable sprayer. I am assuming it is 1940's- 1950's. It was intended for insect. Pest, and crop spraying. Some referring it as an orchard sprayer. It is copper with brass piston and fittings. It measures with piston, 23 inches tall, just tank 17 1/4 inches tall, width of just tank is 14 inches by 7 1/2 at thickest part. This has been restored with, I believe, all original parts except the rubber hose. I have not tested it, but I believe it is fully functional. I am sure this would be useful as a brass décor.
