You are bidding on a New Holland 451 sickle mower with a 7' bar. It is in 100% ready to go condition. It has a great sickle. Really good guards, and the inside and outside shoes are in really good shape. It has a new belt. The pto shaft, pto shaft guards, and u-joints are in good condition. All of the pivot points throughout the machine are in really good shape. I take advantage of a machine like this when I get one in and mow my banks and anything that requires a lot of angle out of the bar. This is what you call a balanced head machine. Which means that it will cut in any position. It is in shape and is absolutely ready to go cut hay. If you are looking at this mower, you might have already been to your local dealership and found that they are not scared to ask $2000 to $2500 for one similar to this that is more than likely a worn out ... moretrade-in. I have personally gone through this machine, used it, and it will no doubt be one of the smoothest running machines that I sell in 2013. The section shown in picture# 10 is the condition of the entire sickle. Take a good look at picture# 7. You will see a bracket with a pulley bolted to it and a cable running around the pulley. This bracket has been broken off or is almost broken off, on 50% of the mowers that I buy, as well as the bracket shown at the center of the picture that has the large spring attached to it. I am basically pointing this out because the ones on this machine are not and have never been broken. This mower is in really good condition. I keep about ten or twelve feet on each side of my lane and about five acres mowed down real nice. I let it grow up to about five to seven inches tall and I cut it down to about three inches tall with these mowers. I am pointing this out because if you have ever used a sickle mower. You know that it is not an easy task to get one to cut grass that is only five inches tall. When you have one that will cut like that, it makes it very versatile. Up for auction is a John Deere No. 5 mounted sickle bar mower or also known as a caster-wheel power mower. This has the seven foot cutter bar. This came with an Unstyled D I bought years ago and had been used on the tractor since the mower was new according to the original owner. The mower came as you see it in the pictures and is being sold the same way. It shouldn't take much to get this back up and running or you can use it for parts for your mower. The pto drive shaft with slip clutch is all there. There is a weld near the slip clutch as shown in the pictures but it is solid. The lower foot that the cutter blade mounts to is missing as is the pit-man arm. The transmission works fine. When you turn the PTO shaft the flywheel spins freely. The cutter bar looks to be in excellent condition and I'm throwing in one of the two blades ... moreshown in the pictures. They are both in real good condition. The maps are neat and handy, but it could cost you money by not emailing us for a quote. This is a Ford 501 sickle bar mower. It has a 6 foot bar. It is 3 point hitch. Catagory 1, 540 PTO. It has 2 stabilizer clamps. New belt, and a new grassboard. The sickle is hand sharpened and inspected for cracks, bad sections or loose rivets. It is field ready. It will not fit the square lift arms(as on some John Deeres and Cases) It needs a narrow lift arm. And will fit to most any Ford or Ferguson. It has an old repair weld on the frame where the float spring goes. It is a good repair. And it pictured. Other than that, all welds are factory. This mower will mow ... moreabout 35 degrees vertical. Pitman mowers do not mow below horizontal unless you are following the terrain and leaning your tractor. Good used Johnson Sickle Servicer in good usable condition. This used tool has been cleaned up a bit and has been hit with a poor repaint job. But it should function nearly as well, if not as well as a new one. The replaceable punch is either unused or in very good condition. This item includes a copy of the operating instructions(replacement parts and instructions are also available on Johnson Machinery's web site) and both the flat and oval head rivet sets(for countersunk or roundhead rivets) When used according to instructions this tool allows you to shear off the old sickle section, punch out the old rivet and rivet on the new section with minimal(or no) distortion of your bar back. This is a very good American made tool. These tools sell new for well over $400.00(and well worth it) THIS TOOL IS READY TO GO TO WORK!
