Vintage Tobacco, Corn Transplanter Trans Planter 1950's Excellent Condition
I've lost count of how many of these hand setters I have bought and sold. I can't ever remember one of them not missing something or several pieces and very few of them actually still worked. There is nothing missing on this one and there is not a single hole in it either. It's as solid as a new one and I guarantee you that if you used it. It would still work. It is by far in the very best condition of one this old I have ever seen. Somebody took some gold paint and sorta smeered it on it, I guess to give it a more vintage look and it's not bad, I just always liked them to be natural even if the natural was rust. The water side is even complete and it's not rusted out like most of them are. It also has a unusual metal handle instead of wood. The ones that had wood, most of the time, has rotted and fell off or has been ... morerepaired several times. If you have wanted one of these, you will not be disappointed when you get this one. You will be as amazed as I am with it's condition. It might have a manufacturers name on it somewhere but I didn't look all that hard, it doesn't need it, in the condition it's in. Not much else I can say that the pics don't, yet the pics can't do this one justice. By the way, I've sold some pretty bad ones for what I started this one out at, if it's not worth that much, I'll just keep it for myself and sell mine that's in a lot worse condition. It is a solid planter. It does have overall crazing. A surface glaze crack near the bottom that does not show on the inside(see photo) and a 1" hairline on the inside rim. The underside has some numbers and letters that I can't make out. Measures apx. 9 1/2" tall and 9 3/4" across the top rim. The coIors are browns and greens and the glaze is shiny. Vintage 6.5" Majolica Planter, Morning Glories on Barrel design, Made in France
This majolica planter or cachepot is 6.5 inches tall and 7.5 inches wide across the top. The bottom is marked with an incised 15. Over a 7, which is over a windmill. Under the windmill are the words ORCHIES FRANCE in block letters. There's also a black stamp which says'Made in France' All of it is under the glaze. The spider fracture that you see on the exterior bottom is not visible when you look at the inside bottom. Pictures 3 and 4 show what I think may be a repair on the rim. Again it doesn't show on the interior. This pot is large compared to many of the other majolica type pots listed on ebay. It has some wear. But displays well. Email if you have questions. This is a 1950's Rare Red Wing Pottery Planter. 445-6. Measures 5 1/4" High 6" Wide with a 4" base. This piece is Light Green outside and Light Yellow inside. I can find no chips. Cracks or crazing. Something must be truly unusual to grab my attention and generate more than moderate excitement, but when I discovered this matched pair. A true pair, not two identical pieces, I think I made a tiny little wet spot on the front of my dungarees. The first elements you’ll notice are the birds; one facing left– the other facing right. They are in remarkable condition with but one shallow chip and a few spots of very minor roughness. The chip is on the top rim at a corner inside one of the canted corners. I’ll show you in a jiffy. I don’t know. the two birds may be looking at one another. Then again. Each may be“on lookout, ... moreone checking for danger to the left; the other to the right. I guess that’s up to you. Each is rectangular with canted corners. Each is 9” by 7” by 3” deep. And weighs 2 lbs. 2 ozs. Together, the pair weighs 1.90 kg) They are footed. You’ll see more images of the feet– as well as the chrysanthemums and other blossoms. Leaves and branches. All hand painted. Of course. I haven’t washed them.
