Vintage Brass Bronze Propeller Quicksilver 3 Blade Prop 22814A1-8 Nautical Some listings show the part number as 48-22814A1-8 Quicksilver Mercury No idea of which size motor this goes on much less what year it would be. This prop was well before the time of the Mercury/Quicksilver rubber bushing insert slip clutch. Would have still used shear pins I would think. Prop is very heavy for its size. We have not cleaned or tried to restore the prop. We will leave that to the new owner. Would make a great wall hanger or mantel piece.

If it could talk it would have a lot to say. all three blades have been sharpened multiple times and that tells me they were used in the corrals for working on animals if you know what I mean. The knife is solid. Pins tight, bolsters tight. Shapleigh had good quality lasting knives. A lot of pocket wear which is obvious from the photos. Many collectors are interested in the blade snap at closure. I can tell you there is no snap here on any of the three blades. Vintage 1960's Black handled Providence Cutlery USA 3 blade Pocket Knife old store stock never used or sharpened! This is a 3 blade knife exactly as pictured. Blade may need some polish and oil but should clean to mint. The knife is appx. 5 3/4 inches long extended with blade being 2- 3/4 inches long. In great condition just needs some cleaning from storage over many years. The Providence knife company was founded by the three Paolantonio brothers in 1916. They sold the company in 1925 then founded Colonial Cutlery in 1926. From 1925 until 1985 they made many knives that were of good quality and have stood the test of time for functionality. Providence won accounts for military knives and even boy scout knives. In 1985 the company dissolved when challenged with new less expensive knives made in Japan and eventually China. All Providence ... moreknives were made in the USA. Even rusty one's are selling/sold for $50! This is UNUSED and in MINT condition. The main blade is marked"PROV. CUTLERY" PROV. R.I. I have an old Kabar three blade folder that is 2 3/4 inches long. The handle is real stag bone and the blades are stockman. The scales are solid with no cracks. The blades are tight in the bolsters. The bolster caps are not dented. The blades have never been sharpened and retain the factory edges. The blades have been subjected to the minor corrosion that is typical of these older junk draw find knives. Overall it's in pretty good shape. COLOMBIA, and HYDROLITE. I assume the 14 is for 14 inches, the size of the propeller? There are other stamps on the piece that I cannot make out. It weighs roughly 7 1/2 pounds. And has obviously been used. Wonderful display, the brass will polish up beautifully if you like a shinier clean look.
