Vintage 1990s Control Tech stubby shorty handlebar bar ends barends MTB, LIGHT
Here's a pair of bar ends. These bolt to the ends of flat or riser handlebars to provide another hand position. They are made by Control Tech. An aftermarket parts manufacturer that was popular in the 1990s. The bar ends are used, but in excellent condition. They fit on flat bars and riser bars. They won't work on drop bars due to the slightly larger grip diameter of drop bars. The last 2 pictures show how the bar ends mount. The handlebar is not included, but is in my other auction if you want it. These bar ends are shorter than typical bar ends. Total length is about 8 cm. They are designed to be lightweight. Yet still provide the alternate hand position. The position on the bar ends puts your hands at a 90-degree angle from the grip on the handlebars. This position is great for climbing out of the saddle up hills as it affords ... moreadditional leverage not found in the standard position on the handlebars. It is also great for intense efforts on the flats as the position opens up the chest cavity for better breathing. These shorty bar ends provide this position with the most minimal of weight. The bar ends are angled inward slightly for better wrist comfort. The bar ends weigh only 91 grams as weighed on a digital postal scale. That is going to be lighter than all but some of the most recent carbon bar ends. Both bolts turn smoothly and they clamp onto the handlebar securely. There is no rust or corrosion of any kind. Just some very light scratches from use. Both end caps are present and the end caps fit snugly into the ends of the bar ends. The bar ends are made out of lightweight aluminum and are anodized silver. The CONTROL TECH logo is found written discreetly on the side. These are very nice bar ends. They provide an alternate hand position with the least amount of weight. One of the complaints of flat bars is the lack of different hand positions. These bar ends solve that problem. 40s vintage Calvert Whiskey Light Up back bar sign panel reverse painted Gillco?
NEVER USED original Calvert reverse on glass panel for lighted back bar sign. It measures 12.5' wide at the base and 6.25' tall in the middle. I do not have any more of these. I found it at a flea market a few years ago by itself. There are still traces of the packing paper on the back side. The reverse painted graphics are perfect. The large coin shaped item slowly rotates, displaying the famous Falstaff shield on one side, and Falstaff's Old Pro animated character on the other. The bottom portion lights up, illuminating the spinning coin and the Falstaff logo on the front. It has an in line on-off switch. The item works well and the lighting and the motor for the rotation start right up. You can hear the item running, but it is not overly noisy, just not whisper quiet like a newer item. The item has been used in a bar for many years and has not been cleaned by me, but could most definitely use it! The item does have plenty of patina and condition issues, which I have taken close up pictures of. There is some image loss and what appears to be water stains ... moreon the lower logo and script(pic 3) There is a crack in the spinning coin surround that has been taped together(pic 6) There is some plastic chipped off on the corners of the base(pics 7&8) There is some warping of the spinning coin surround(pic 10) There is what appears to be a melted spot on the revolving coin(pic 11) There is some scratching on the Falstaff shield(pic 12) Please expect the item to have various other condition issues throughout including dust, dirt, scratches, scrapes, etc. as the item is old and used, not new. All told, this is a super cool old advertising piece that would look great displayed in your bar area or man cave. Even with all of its faults, it does work well and looks good illuminated. I do personally think all the dirt and imperfections gives it a nice, vintage look. If you are looking for a mint condition sign, this is not it. But if you are looking for a super cool old motion sign without spending a fortune, this quite possibly could be the one for you. Vintage Industrial Bar Theater Stage Spot Flood Light Steampunk Lamp Metal 16"
Very cool and large theater or bar stage spot lights. Working as you can see from the pictures. These take 1000 Watt bulbs but I'm sure you could tone that down with less if you are looking for a loft or other type application. They measure 16" tall and the opening of the spot light is 8 1/4" on the inside. You can also add the colored slide in if you want. I have 4 available if someone w ants more than one. I gave it a quick damp cloth wipe down to get off the top layer of dust/dirt. But It could use some more real cleaning up to make it look much better, but it Lights up& works perfect. the colors are nice and bright with or without being on. It has a big GOLD color shiney chrome Horseshoe w/ good Luck on the front. With a bridge and fake hops and barley plants behind it also in gold antique plating. All on a base that looks like wood. But it's plastic like every thing else on the front& the white trim on the sides. Under the Horseshoe it says: OLYMPIA BEER& fake wood carvings at the bottom. The bulb is the fluorescent tube type. T he cord has a off/on swith built in& ... morelooks to be in good shape as well, but has been spliced maybe to make it longer? Again. It is all plastic on the front, but not cracked or broken. No major scratches for as old as it is, and even the gold looks like it would polish up all shiney. The frame part and back are all painted white metal. NOTICE: IT IS OLD AND HAS BEEN HANGING AROUND A LONG TIME. I DID NOT OPEN IT TO CLEAN IT.
