I call this a fresnel or textured lens as you can see the 3 dimensional texture on the inside of lens which adds contrast& brightness to the overall effect of the nicely reversed embossed lettering. For your consideration is this great pair of vintage movie theater Exit Sign Lights. This is a fabulous pair of lights. The steel has aged to a super patina giving lots of great character. The lights are wired and do work, they take a 7.5 watt nightlight bulb. The lights measure 5" in diameter and stand 3" out from the wall. The porcelian sockets are in great condition and there are not any chips or breaks in the ruby red glass shades. As pictured ther are a few litle marks in the white lettering and some small dots in the glass between the E and theX in the 9th pictures, which looks like little bubbles on the glass from the factory. RARE Antique Vintage LIGHTED EXIT SIGN From Movie Theater - WORKING!
Up for grabs is this awesome vintage lighted exit sign/ wall sconce! I have not been able to find a single one like it on the web! It looks and feels to be Bakelite/ Lucite. I do not know the history of this sign's origin. But I believe it is from a theater. The exit letters look to have been painted on Lucite. There are minor surface scratches on the surface and on the paint, but overall it looks great! This piece takes a regular lamp light bulb. And may have been modified at one point to take a regular light bulb, I am not sure. I apologize for the dust in the picture when looking down where you screw in the light bulb, I should have cleaned it out. You can also see in one of the pictures that there is a small hole so you can mount this piece to a wall or doorway. Please note that the light actually gives of a deep red glow rather than ... morewhat is seen in the picture where it is lit up. It does not give off a bright yellow. Also as you can see in the last picture where the sign is laying down, someone used a little electrical tape to hold the cord in place properly, I'm guessing that's what it is for. The glass is red with the front being cut out of some sort of metal or tin, please note there is no electrical fittings inside this unit- I am unsure too it's age. I have for auction this vintage art deco exit sign. It is made of white glass with red lettering. The exit letters are in very nice condition. With almost no red missing. there is no major scratches. There is no cracks. There is no repairs. There is no chips in the glass. The glass rim is not chipped either. There is some minor roughness; but no chips. The light socket is intact. The outside end of the light socket is threaded and is ready to screw on to a 3/4' diameter threaded electrical pipe(conduit) The dimension of the glass sign; the glass is 7' tall it is 6 1/4' wide at the back end. This is a used antique. Single sided EXIT wall light sign. The inside label reads, Wheeler Reflector Co. Boston Mass, but it is peeling off some. It measures 14x7x4. It is made of galvanized metal with one sided glass, red background and white letters. There are no defects in the glass. This sign is in the original condition and is white metal with red lettering(has some scratches and wear) The lettering is in perfect condition. This sign is not cheaply made but heavy. This sign has writing on the back of it: EXIT SIGN- TYPE B SYMBOLIC DISPLAYS INC. 700312- SN 4871 DATE OF MFG 8035 BOEING PN 60B50043-2 28V GRD 6V It looks like you could open it and have it running as the back is in such good condition.
