I purchased a swarm trap but it didn't work very well so I did some research on what bees ... morelook for in a new home and built some of these and they work great. Now I am having them built to sell to other Beekeepers. The trap is completely assembled. The hanger cross members are not attached so it can be shipped. It just takes 8 screws to reassemble it. The trap will hold 8 deep hive frames. If the frames have some comb on them that's better. But not necessary. Don't put frames with brood or honey in the trap. Mount the hanging bracket to a tree at least 6 feet high with 2 screws. Then set the swarm box on top and wrap the bungee cord around the trap and hanging bracket so the wind won't blow it off. Put about 3 drops of lure just inside the entrance and refresh every 7 days. When you have caught some bees. Wait until just before dark when all the bees are in the trap and close the dial entrance and tighten the wing nut. Take the bungee cord and wrap it around the trap to hold the top on while transporting it. All you have to do is take them to their new location, lift out the frames of bees and put them in their new home. Then the trap can be used again. The bees you caught made it thru the winter in your area and know how to survive. You can't buy better bees anywhere else. Always treat your bees with VARROA MITE CONTROL(sold on Ebay) as soon as you get them in a hive to keep them from spreading any deseases they might have. The VARROA MITE CONTROL will get them off to a good healthy start. Put the trap up in an area with a lot bees. I put up these swarm traps in my bee yards so I can catch the swarms from my own bees. If I take bees out of a house. I ask the owner if I could put up a swarm box so the bees won't return to the house. When I go get a swarm, I ask the landowner if I can put up a swarm box the next year. When you catch a swarm of bees you are not only a beekeeper but now are a honeybee trapper. We have For Sale a very rare antique bee smoker This smoker was in my private collection and I have decided to sell that collection. I will be listing more unusual unique items in the coming future. The dimensions of this Clark Cold Blast smokercan is 8.5 inches high. The bottom of the can is 5 inches in diameter and is a cone shape with the top of the cone 3/4" diameter. The bellows board nearest and attached to the cone are rectangular in shape 5" wide by 8" tall. The back half of the bellows is missing. The smokercan is rusty but the rust is just surface rust and does not penetrate the metal. The wood front of the bellows is in great shape considering it's age. Selling a Bee suit. It was used but seems to be in pretty good condition. The only label I can find is on the hat portion which says Dadant and Sons. From what I can tell on their website its cotton polyester zipper suit with cricket hat. I'm 6 foot 180 lbs and it fit me good. So I'm guessing its either medium or a large. The suit feels soft and comfy and it will definitely keep you warm. The hat is adjustable. As can be seen in the pic the glove is stained but in tact. the suit on the other hand is pretty clean. This is a 1977 reprint of the original 1853 printing. The hardcover book contains 373 pages of text plus a section of illustrations in the back and it measure 5 1/4" x 7 1/2" There are 18 chapters that address all areas of beekeeping in the mid 1800's and much of it still applies today. I purchased this book 30 some years ago and have read it several times for the knowledge it contains.

10 Antique Vintage HONEY BEE HIVE Foundation Frames for Medium Super, Apiary
These are 10 antique/ vintage wooden frames found in a farmer's barn. Foundation frames are typically wired and covered with a thin sheet of beeswax that honey bees use as a foundation to start making honeycombs that they fill with honey. All ten of these are 17 3/4 inches tall and 6 1/4 inches wide and would fit in a medium super. One of these frames is stamped with the words. ROOT TRIPLE LOCK CORNER FRAME. These old frames are not in bad condition. Most could use some extra strength and sanitization if you plan on using them for bees. There are still traces of honeycomb on these and they aren't completely clean. I rinsed the dust off and gave them a once over with soapy water but that's all I did to clean them. I fixed up 10 of these old frames and put them in my hive and they are holding up pretty well but are not the strongest ... moreframes in the world. I am using them for brood- I don't know if these would hold up during the rigors of extraction. I didn't see any parts missing on this group of frames. And almost all of the pegs that hold the foundation in place are still there. One frame has a crack. The wood has a nice patina from age and beeswax and I also think that these would be fun to use for crafts. Maybe picture frames as a gift for your favorite beekeeper? Thanks for looking!

Antique Vintage HONEY BEE HIVE for Nuc Colony, Raising Queens, or Swarms, Apiary
These is an antique/ vintage nuc bee hive found in a farmer's barn. Small nuc hives are often used for splitting colonies. Raising new colonies, rearing queens, or catching small swarms. This comes with the hive body, inner cover, and outer cover. This old hive not in bad condition. It could use some extra glue and nails and sanitization if you plan on using it for bees. It's not completely clean. I rinsed the dust off and gave everything a once over with soapy water but that's all I did to clean it. The hive body is nice and solid. There are still some nails sticking out on the outside. So please be careful when you open the package. I think someone used to hang their tools from these, would be my guess. The inner cover is a little bit flimsy but still intact. The outer cover could us some work. VERY OLD DADANT& SONS BEE SMOKER for Bee-keeping Beautiful vintage condition. The person who gave this to me said it was from 1923. Still works! Heat shield. Bellows, hinge and internal coal area ~ all in fine condition. Lovely just as a"primitive" piece for display. This one has a grained. Green"leather" bellows that is very unique. Huge letter"D" printed onto wood backing. There is a fascinating history of Dadant& Sons of Illinois on their website. Just google the title to find it.I am unable to publish it here. Dovetailing/finger joint machine, Beekeeping woodworking equipment dado saw!
This machine is a finger joint making dado saw used specifically for making beehive boxes. The boxes shown in the pictures were made using this very saw. It was manufactured by Carl E. Johnson Co. of Lincoln Park Michigan. It works great and can be seen in person in Marysville Ohio. I can have it delivered anywhere in the US for $750 or less. It has a 220 volt motor on it and the sawdust goes into the bottom under the seat. There is a fitting to hook a dust collector to it or you can open the end of the box and'rake' the saw dust out every so often. Cash. Check any form of payment is accepted. Paypal is accepted but I would prefer check or cash. I have two of these. The other one is mounted on a floor stand and made to be used standing. Antique Novice's Honey Extractor Cetrifuge A I Root Co, Medina, OH Primitive Bee
This vintage honey extraction barrel is in as found condition. This came from a great pre civil war farm. This is pre 1940s the owner said he bought this in the 1940s used. This honey extraction would have probably costed about $200.00- 250.00 brand new a long time ago. They still make these today and use these. You could probably make your own cap for the bottom spout. You could put a plastic cap or metal. Whatever your mind desires. I was told that this was in working condition from the owner. He was a bee farmer and used to use this a lot. I could not seem to get it to work right. I should have taken a lesson. Thank you!

Antique vintage bee keeping smokers primitive
Ok. Let me start out by saying that the only thing I know about bees, is I scream like a girl when one gets in the car. That being said, these are an estate sale find. One is a Woodman Bee-Ware smoker. The bellow are in good shape, and from what I can tell, it works. Evidently, they made these things forever, so I really don't know the exact age, but from the'patina' it was well used. It has light surface rust. The other one. I don't know. I can find no identification and it's covered in rust, but has no holes One side is dented. Let the pics do the talking. Anywho. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
