Rescued from the site of an old Bee Farm in Highland Ca. It was in a shed that has not been opened in over 40 years. Items in the shed are dusty, and dated late 1800's to mid 1950's. I did not deep clean any of the rescues; I dusted off with a clean damp rag and leave restorations to the experts. This is a vintage Honey Grader. It works. Plug is in decent condition. I am not a bee farmer. The information I am offering is based on visual matches acquired from an internet search. I hope I can answer all of your questions Here is some information I gathered off the net re: this scale: Honey quality was first judged with the very old school Pfund Color Grader Honey quality was assessed by color. The lighter the honey. The higher the price. Every honey sample is assigned a value from around 5 to around 90. Antique Honey Bee Poster in French
This is a two sided antique French poster depicting the biology of the honey bee on one side and the biology of fish on the other. I am a beekeeper and I found this poster absolutely charming. It was an antique when I bought it 30 years ago and has some tattering on the edges. Most of which can be addressed with good matting. It could also be displayed with glass on both sides so both images could be appreciated. All the captions are in French. It is a large poster, about 36 inches by 31 inches. Vintage Honey Bee Hive Smoker and screen Hood, Works
This old bee hive smoker and hood are just as I found them in the basement. My dad used them years ago. There is still some"nut shells" in the smoker. As he would drop them in when he ate nuts, guess it helped to make smoke. The baffel still produces a"puff" when it is squeezed.It is unmarked with the exception of 1951 stamped on the wood. The hood is made of screen and cloth and is good with the exception of a small hole in the fabric, as I have shown in the pictures. I took a lot of pictures so you could look it over.

Four dark brown ceramic spice shakers. Each with a different label. Allspice, Cinnamon, Ginger, and Paprika. All have bee finial on top with 3 holes through which to shake out your spice. Honeycomb pattern on the sides along with 2 more bees as decoration. 2 have JAPAN sticker label on the bottom. All have corked holes in bottom. Good condition, but one had chip on bottom rim which looks like it happened during the manufacturing because it is glazed over. Really it looks more like a burst bubble than a chip.

Uncapping Tub for extracting honey from comb frame, beekeeping, honey bee
Used uncapping tub to prepare frames before extraction. Works great. Cover keeps it clean if you need to come back to the task over a few days. Wooden bar is perfect to rest the edge of the frame while using the hot knife(I have one for sale) to uncap. Or open the cells for the honey to flow. Metal grate does a good job of separating most of the wax from the honey. The bottom tub has a flow gate. On the bottom is a three pronged glass trivet style motif so that you can place the glass trap on a table top and the bees can still go inside since it is on a 3 pronged like trivet. Hole is cut in glass on the bottom. Pictures were added! It has a cork. The bees come in from the bottom and get trapped inside. This does not look used at all.

Beekeeping Honey Bee Venom Collector
This is one of the first venom collector plates I built back 15- 20 years ago. It worked very well. The collector has been sitting in the barn for quite a while and has lots of dust on it. The plate and cloth need to be very clean just prior to collecting. The cloth should probably be replaced. The cloth is just silk screening cloth. The first picture shows how it sits in front of the hive. The second picture shows the bottom of the board. The third picture shows how the glass plate is removed. You need a 38 volt AC 15 hertz power supply rigged to output about a 30% duty cycle(i.e. on for 18 seconds off for 42 seconds) to power the board. This is not something that you can just buy off the shelf. You will have to build it. HOW IT WORKS When a bee touches two wires at the same time she gets shocked an convulses stinging the glass plate. The ... moreglass plate keeps the stinger from getting stuck in the fine cloth covering. As the bees sting the plate the alarm pheromone attracts more bees to the plate. The collector is put on the hive and activated for 30 to 45 minutes. It can then be moved to another hive to collect more venom. After collecting on the hive the plate is removed and the cloth taken off. The dried venom is scraped off the plate with a razor blade. This is the best grade venom. The cloth is rinsed in distilled water into a glass dish. The water is allowed to evaporate and the venom that was dissolved in the water is scraped off the glass dish with a razor blade. This is a lesser grade venom as it is contaminated with the stuff that was stuck to the bees dirty little feet such as pollen. I am happy to answer any questions the wining bidder has.

The hardcover book contains 373 pages of text plus a section of illustrations in the back and it measure 5 1/4" x 7 1/2" There are 18 chapters that address all areas of beekeeping in the mid 1800's and much of it still applies today. I purchased this book 30 some years ago and have read it several times for the knowledge it contains.

10 Antique Vintage HONEY BEE HIVE Foundation Frames Shallow & Deep Super, Apiary
These are 10 antique/ vintage wooden frames found in a farmer's barn. Foundation frames are typically wired and covered with a thin sheet of beeswax that honey bees use as a foundation to start making honeycombs that they fill with honey. Two of these are about 17 3/4 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches tall and would fit in a shallow super. Seven of these are about 17 3/4 inches wide and 9 1/4 inches tall and would fit in a deep super. One of these is 17 3/4 inches tall and 6 1/4 inches wide and would fit in a medium super. These old frames are not in bad condition. Most could use some extra glue and nails and sanitization if you plan on using them for bees. There are still traces of honeycomb on these and they aren't completely clean and solid. I rinsed the dust off and gave them a once over with soapy water but that's all I did to ... moreclean them.I fixed up 10 of these old frames and put them in my hive and they are holding up pretty well but are not the strongest frames in the world. I am using them for brood- I don't think these would hold up during the rigors of extraction. There are a few slats missing here and there. And there are some cracks. There are still some nails and wires sticking out on some, so please be careful when you open the package. The wood has a nice patina from age and beeswax and I also think that these would be fun to use for crafts. Maybe picture frames as a gift for your favorite beekeeper? Thanks for looking!

Antique Vintage HONEY BEE HIVE for Nuc Colony, Raising Queens, or Swarms, Apiary
These is an antique/ vintage nuc bee hive found in a farmer's barn. Small nuc hives are often used for splitting colonies. Raising new colonies, rearing queens, or catching small swarms. This comes with the hive body, inner cover, and outer cover. This old hive not in bad condition. It could use some extra glue and nails and sanitization if you plan on using it for bees. It's not completely clean. I rinsed the dust off and gave everything a once over with soapy water but that's all I did to clean it. The hive body is nice and solid. There are still some nails sticking out on the outside. So please be careful when you open the package. I think someone used to hang their tools from these, would be my guess. The inner cover is a little bit flimsy but still intact. The outer cover could us some work. It needs some nails and glue and ... moreone of the framing boards has a crack(I tried to take a photo of this) The roofing on here is starting to peel up around the edges. The hive body measures 22 inches long including the landing area. The box itself is 20 inches long. It's 8 inches wide. The hole hive when assembled including outer cover is about 12 1/2 inches high. The wood on this set has a nice patina from age and beeswax and I also think that this would be fun to use for crafts. Maybe a planter as a gift for your favorite beekeeper? This vintage honey extraction barrel is in as found condition. This came from a great pre civil war farm. This is pre 1940s the owner said he bought this in the 1940s used. This honey extraction would have probably costed about $200.00- 250.00 brand new a long time ago. They still make these today and use these. You could probably make your own cap for the bottom spout. You could put a plastic cap or metal. Whatever your mind desires. I was told that this was in working condition from the owner. He was a bee farmer and used to use this a lot.
