Vintage HP 1950 Era Audio Oscillator 201C
This is a vintage audio oscillator model 201C made by Hewlett Packard. The oscillator case is in amazing shape besides one scratch on the top. See the pictures for more details. The inner components look great as well. As you can see from the pictures. It is very clean with no visible damage of any kind. I plugged in the unit, and turned it on, and saw a glow on the inside. The oscilloscope appears functional. But I am not representing it as an item that won't go Tango Uniform later this afternoon. The storage feature is completely kaput. Shown is a trace in a darkened room and a trace in a light room. The display is bright enough to use. The triggered signal shown is a 53 MHz signal from a generator listed below. One channel has no input in the picture although it works as well. This thing is heavy. A quantity of one Motorola Signal Generator Model S-1318-A. This piece does generate a signal as shown on the oscilloscope. A couple of years ago. It appeared reasonably stable. At the time, I believe the modulation worked. The CRT display is showing Audio modulation from WWV at 10Mhz The 10MHz timebase has been aligned using Satellite GPS receiver 10 MHz locked to the satellite as a reference. Notice in the 1st photo the error meter shows 0 error receiving WWV at 10Mhz I used the flash feature of my camera to eliminate the shadows on the error meter so you can see that wwv was right on. 0 error.
