Description: What we have you you here is a vintage Hewlett Packard model 200AB audio oscillator. The 200AB will produce a sine wave from 20Hz to 40kHz. Included with this unit is a copy of the manual printed from a pdf found on the web. This unit will power up and has been tested. It took a while to begin making sound the first time but once it came to life it appeared to work perfectly. I used a Korg chromatic tuner to determine if the dial was accurately representing the frequency of the sine wave and it was pretty close. It appears to be slightly sharp. Not a full semi-tone up, according to the tuner. The casing shows some cosmetic wear and tear which is to be expected from a unit this age(estimating it to be around 50 years old) There is a"PROPERTY OF US GOVERNMENT" decal on one side of the unit as well as stenciled"40-180" ... moreon both sides and"M3791" written on each side in marker. The power plug is missing the ground prong. The cabinet is all metal so this is not some flimsy toy. I imagine this 200AB will need some calibration and routine maintenance but it does produce a tone.
