RFL Electronics 5800 Meter Calibration System, UTEC/Radian Research Test Board
RFL Electronics 5800 Meter Calibration System For sale- an RFL Electronics 5800 Meter Calibration System. Also for some reason referred to as a Test Board. I have used UTEC and Radian Research in the title for search engine purposes. But please note that this unit, serial number 633 if that tells you anything, does NOT say UTEC or Radian Research on it anywhere, only RFL Electronics. I have no idea what the relationship(if any) between those companies might be. The 5800 is in very good physical condition. Not saying you won’t find some scuffs and scratches. But I don’t see anything obviously broken or missing as compared to a few of the other 5800’s I found online. That doesn’t mean that it is complete. You should inspect the pictures VERY carefully to see just what it is you are buying. Only thing I noticed that will need attention is the ... morefoam filters over the fans on top. Which are disintegrating and will need to be replaced. As you can see the Meter Calibration System is equipped with an RFL Electronics 30578-1 Edge Sensor. That whole assembly sticks out prominently and to my way of thinking is vulnerable to shipping damage. I was going to try to take the sensor unit off at least but that was proving to be more difficult than I imagined. So I put some pads against the body of the unit. Snugged the sensor and arm assembly up against it, and shrink wrapped it in place to keep it secure in transit home(last picture) That is how I would propose to ship it to you. But if that isn’t the best way to do it I am open to suggestion. The sensor and arm assembly could be removed if necessary but I was afraid that might damage it so I chose not to do that. If you look at the pictures there are two things you will notice. First. It was NIST calibrated in August of 2011, due again in 2012. Second. It appears to be on a pallet constructed just for it. My theory is that it came back from being calibrated and was never used again by the large state university that I bought it from. Why else would the shipping pallet still b

Research Electronics Inc CPM-700, RF Detector & bug sniffer
I accepted this item in lieu of a debt owed. I do not know how to use it. It powers up and the display comes up and changes when I push buttons and rotate knobs. There are two probes with it. I have identified one as an RF probe but have not identified the other. It has two alligator clips on the end. There is an additional accessory that has a phone connector in it but I don't know how it works with this device. There is a slight amount of corrosion in the battery compartment indicating to me that batteries were allowed to get too old at some point in the past. There are no batteries installed in the unit now. I have downloaded the user manual in PDF format from Research Electronics Inc web site and have loaded it on a thumb drive that I will send with the unit. I have offered a 14 day return for problems. Vintage Acoustic Research AR-1 Speaker Cabinet & Electronics (No Drivers)
This is a vintage Acoustic Research AR-1 cabinet for parts. Missing the drivers. Serial number 8281, originally had an Altec 755A and 12" woofer but those were removed and sold separately. Does not have the grille cloth, badge or the baffle. The baffle board was glued in and disintegrated during removal, there is residue from the baffle. There is putty and glue residue where the drivers were installed. The electronics. Wiring and connectors are intact. The speaker wires were cut and may need to be extended. The High Frequency tweeter adjustment was functional before the drivers were removed, the adjustment pot is a little stiff and the knob is missing. As with any electronics of this age servicing may be necessary for proper performance. The cabinet itself is solid but is cosmetically rough with a number of gouges, lots of scuffs and ... morescratches. The bottom trim piece is detached but is included. The mounting screws for the woofer are included, no screws for the other speaker. This is a large. Heavy unit. Measures 25"H x 14"W x 11-1/2"D and weighs about 30 lbs. Pending Sale- Someone made an appointment to see the lot this morning(3/12/2015) I raised the price to hold the listing in place. I will either remove the listing if it sells or lower the price back to $3500 obo. Up for sale is a huge lot of vintage audio equipment and vintage speakers. I acquired this lot from an estate of a serious hobbyist. There are over 100 pieces of electronics and speakers. There are some very desirable pieces such as Acoustic Research AR-2. AR-2A, AR-5, and Dahlquist DQ-10 speakers. Also, there are three Dual turntables, Marantz 2216 receiver, and many Heathkit pieces. Everything has been in storage for many years. I am not knowledgeable ... moreenough in this field to evaluate all of the pieces individually for resale. This lot would be great for a hobbyist or a knowledgeable reseller to test and/ or fix and then resell. All of the pieces need a good cleaning and some pieces. Probably refurbishment and repair. The speakers have heavy wear on the cabinets. The front covers are missing on half of the speakers. They look mostly intact but I am sure a large percentage need at least a reconing, if not more work. The pictures do not show the entire lot but just a sampling. The entire inventory is listed below. The lot is available for inspection in San Lorenzo. CA. I can provide power and a work area for you to evaluate the pieces, before buying.
