I am selling my Tek 184 time mark generator to free up some bench space. I wanted my time marks to be as accurate as possible and wanted to slave it to my GPSDO(GPS disciplined oscillator) to accomplish that. Not easy to do with the 184 without significant alteration and circuit building but a simple thing with the TG501. So a TG501 it is! The operator/service manual can be downloaded on the web or I can email it. Your questions are welcome. Photos of actual item for sale. Only 184 with short(about 2-1/2 feet) power cord for sale; cables and scope for demonstration purposes only. Photos 1. 2, 3 and 4 show front, all sides, top, etc. As with most instruments of this era. The case and mechanical elements are great quality. Even has a kick stand for easier viewing and a neat fold down handle. It does show age. It is nearly 50 years old! Photo ... more5 shows the fastest speed and in this case it is a sine wave. Note the button aside the power off button displays a sine wave insignia and is pressed in. Photo 6 shows the fastest true time mark signal. A.1 microsecond as shown on generator, the same as 100 ns shown on the scope. Photo 7 shows a 10 microsecond time mark as also shown on scope. Photo 8 shows a 1 ms signal and on the scope. All the other outputs work too. Just can’t show them all! Also as they get slower. The camera shutter will be faster than the scope sweep giving a misleading photo. Photo 9 shows an output from the trigger source. The trigger is just a slightly isolated lower level takeoff of the time mark signals. Photo 10 shows both the time mark and trigger at different intervals. The scope set at 50 microseconds per division shows the difference. The upper trace is channel 1 connected to the 10 microsecond trigger output. The lower trace is channel 2 connected to the 50 microsecond time mark output.
