Continental Diesel TMD27 Miller welder
I am selling a Big 50D Miller welder with a Continental TMD27 that runs good(code JJ@ mid 80's) It had a fuel knock and smoked bad so I had the injectors rebuilt and it got better but there is a small noise(very small) when it warms up but isn't loud enough to hear from 5 feet away. Can't pin down just exactly what it is and I have been working on engines a long time, it may not be anything to worry about as diesels are pretty noisy anyway compared to a gas motor. Maybe you need parts, great parts motor, just the pump and injectors are worth a lot by themselves. The hour meter doesn't work so I can't say how many hours are on it(says 619) the electrical is shot and it's for motor parts only, the armature may be good but I can't get it out till I pull the motor so that has to be seen, the field shorted out so that ... moreis junk. The radiator was just redone, sheet metal is good, switches, transformers, diodes, generator frame, fuel tank, glow plug relay, most anything you might need off a Big 50 or anything in that family that it will fit. Absolutely no noise when cold. Tight as a drum, this things sounds great, and then it's a pretty small noise as it warms up.sounds like it could be a bearing but it's not very bad at all, you can hear it run when you come and pick it up and see what you think, I am leaving the engine in the frame just for that but you get everything when you buy it, engine, generator, sheet metal, etc.

I bought a miller trailblazer and this 12RC suitcase welder together as a set last year. The retired police officer that I bought it from was going to"get into" welding. But barely used it at all. The trailblazer had 20 hours on it and by the looks of it- I doubt if he used the suitcase welder one single time- it looks like new other than some scratches and dust from being moved around my garage. I thought I might use it eventually, but I have had it a year and find myself only using the trailblazer or my 220v lincoln, so I have no use for this. The 25' extension cords combined with 15' gun give you 40' total distance, but of course your ground cable would need to be close enough to the work. This old welder is single phase 230 or 460 so it can be used in a home shop or industrial location. The welds in the pictures were made with this welder. The high low switch. AC, DC+ and DC- all work fine. At some point in its life the red lug shorted out to the case making the hole larger. The lug was replaced at that time, I welded a washer over the hole to make the lug fit right and to keep it from being a problem in the future. I bought a lot of welders from a closed vocational school and will be listing them on here. Every welder is wired up and tested before being listed. Here we have a used Miller 300DX unit with cart and cooler S/N LG340623L. It has been a really good unit up to this point when the high frequency stopped working. It will try to strike and arc but will not put out correct amps in order to weld and with no error codes on screen. Everything else works properly. I have been told by several individuals they are quite easy to repair and are some of the best older welders Miller has made do to their simplicity circuitry. Other than the crappy paint job it is in very good condition(see the picture of the insides) It came out of a high school welding program that was shut down. It is 208/230/460 single phase.
