Following World War II. Manufacturers of farm equipment and machinery in the United States sought ways to industrialize farming processes and retire the use of horses and mules on farms. This brought about the introduction of small tractors in the American agricultural community. One of the most popular small tractors during this time was Farmall 140 tractor, also known as International 140 tractor. Introduced by International Harvester to the American farming community in 1957. The Farmall 140 belongs to the Hundreds Series of Farmall tractors. The Hundreds series used numbers instead of letters to identify models. Tractors in the Hundreds series essentially had the same design as the tractors in the Letter Series, with slight differences on color and features. Perhaps this is the reason why the Farmall 140 looked very similar to the models ... moreA and B from the Letter Series. The Farmall 140 was similar to the Farmall Cub. A and B models in terms of design and utility. The Farmall140 affords the operation a clear view of the field he was working on because the tractor was offset to the left, while the driver’s seat and steering wheel were a little farther on the right. McCormick Farmall 0-4 Orchard Grove Tractor
This is a 1944 International McCormick Farmall O-4 orchard tractor. This tractor was restored a few years ago. It came from Texas where it was purchased for $14.000 dollars. I would consider the sheet metal to be very nice with very nice paint. There are many new parts. It is a dual fuel with the second tank. It runs and drives good. You can take it to any show or parade and be proud of it. The only negatives that I know of are a patch on the block and the sheetmetal is pitted on the inside but no rust. This is a very good investment and a wonderful addition to your collection. The bat wings, cowel and fender covers are very nice. I don't know where you will ever get a better deal. Listing this up for a friend that is trying to downsize his fleet of tractors. Farmall MV. This is the high clearance vegetable tractor. The tractor starts right up runs and drive perfect. It has 4 brand new tires on it along with a new intake manifold. The Carburetor and magneto have both been recently rebuilt. The clutch is very good and pedal is all the way at the top. FARMALL 450 DIESEL international, mccormick, john deere, case, ford
Up for auction is a 1957 Farmall 450 Diesel(SN 20932) Starts. Runs and switches over good. Has TA, 1 finger power steering, fast hitch and one remote. All major mechanical stuff works good. I've put a lot of time into this tractor recently. Just replaced the diesel tank, gas tank, hydraulic pump, power steering pump etc. All of those parts were used but in good shape. Also changed all filters and fluids(about $200) Was told by previous owner that the injection pump was recently rebuilt. Can't prove it but the tractor sure does run like it was. I also just put brand new road guider 6.00-16s and tubes on the front. The rear tires are 15.5-38s. One is an alliance with about 70% and the other is a hood with about 25% This tractor does have a few things that could use some tlc. It has a hydraulic leak coming from somewhere around the reservoir ... moreor power steering block. Not sure didn't look into it. The battery box has been changed to be longer. Must have been done to fit a bigger battery. None of the lights or dash guages work. The left rear wheel has been welded as shown in the pictures. Looks to me like they did a pretty good job. The rear tire that's 25% holds air and works but is showing through in a few spots. All these issues except the tire are pretty minor and come with the territory of almost a 60 year old machine. Like I stated above all major mechanical stuff is good. Overall this is a pretty solid tractor. Only 6961 of the diesel 450s were made. Who knows how many are left complete and still running today. It would make a great candidate for restoration due to the rarity and condition. Would like to keep this tractor but I just bought a bigger one. The following information is all I know.Tractor was used over the summer. It starts and runs good. Doesnt use oil. Doesnt smoke, except durring starting and warm up which is typical of a diesel. Has a 1500w tank heater for cold weather starting. He thinks it was made in late 50's. Engine is a 6 cylinder, about 60HP, rebuilt some years ago with new sleeves and pistons. Easy on fuel. 5 speed manual transmission, shifts good. Torque amplifier doesnt work, he says its unnecessary anyway. Has loader attachments welded on both front sides. 3 point hitch works good. Motor is loose but not running, been shedded, ran good about two years ago, has bad gas in it and dont want to mess with it, tractor is complete, tires hold air, not the best, manifold has been welded, have a brand new aftermarket one that goes with the tractor, paid $200 for it, also a spare hood and a belt pulley assembly, has shutter as well, no sn# tag, have number off the frame which is FA136179, must be paid in full by auction end, can store if needed, pick up only, loading dock available, as is. 1949 Farmall M Antique Tractor With 9 Speed International McCormick Deering
I have up for sale a 1949 Farmall M. Tractor has belt pully. Pto, hydraulics and has the 9 speed transmission. Tractor has good but miss matched Firestone and Goodyear 13.6-38 4 ply rear tires. It has 6.00-16 front tires. Tractor has a new seat and cushion, fenders, muffler, battery and sediment bowl. Tractor comes with a nice set of rear wheel weights. Tractor fires right up but does smoke a little the first few seconds of running but then cleans up with no smoke at all. Tractor runs and drives as it should, the belt pully and pto kick in and out as they should and when the hydraulic lever is pulled you can hear the pump working. Sheet metal is pretty straight with a few dings hear and there. The tractor is a 1949 so it does have a few leaks but nothing major. This tractor would be great for a restoration project.
