For sale is a nice John Deere 4040 tractor with loader. This is a good used tractor that is ready to go to work. Comes with a Koyker 565 loader and bucket. Tractor is rated at 90 hp and has a 540/1000 pto. Powershift transmission and clutch in good shape. Heat and a/c both work. The interior also has a brand new cab kit. Tractor weighs about 11.000 pounds, 96" wide, 108" to top of cab, and around 16' long. It does have the long rear axle if someone wanted to put duals on it. The last four digits of the serial number are 3935 which makes this a 1979. It has about 8,470 hours on it, but has not been ragged and has plenty of life left in it. If it sits a while it has a few minor leaks like most older tractors. Nothing major at all. You can load this one up and take it straight to work. 1971 John Deere 4000 powershift tractor
Way above average very usable condition. All new tires(18.4/34 rears) Soft top for shade. Installed large single 12 volt battery. I built the steps to make it easier to get on and off. New rockshaft/bushings/seals. No leaks. New soft top and frame. New 3 pt hitch arm pins. New PTO seals and bearings, no leaks. Runs very well. Stored inside when not in use. Very dry, very minor oil leaks. 3 pt arms do bleed down slowly when tractor is shut off. Brakes very good. Always serviced regularly. Minimal blowby. Trans shifts and operates as it should. Good solid put to work now tractor. I thought this was a 4020 but the identification plate says it is a 4000. I just liked these tractors and didn't care about this. I'm retiring now and selling off the farming equipment. I listed this tractor before and it got much response. I stopped the auction ... morebecause of a screwup, probably on my part. I got an official document from the Two Cylinder club stating that this is a 4000 powershift tractor. It was built May of 1971 and delivered to Pennsylvania. It was a diesel. It has non matching engine number. I don't know if any other parts on the tractor are the originals. thanks for looking at my auction. paypal not accepted but can take personal check and wait until funds clear. I put in a new seal in the midship pto because it had a weep. Not bad, but wanted to tighten it up. I wasn't expecting there to be a pto shaft in there but there is. I'm not sure if that shaft spins when the rear shaft is engaged, it must but I never used it. It has the cover on it so can't actually look at it.
