Vintage Midget Planter Seeder Pat Dec8-14 K-2
Old Cast iron"midget" garden planter that says"Pat. Dec 8-14" K-2" The planter is made of cast iron and steel. This planter has a drive wheel made of steel that is about 8 inches in diameter. T is a furrow opener and also a closing arm that throws dirt on the open seed furrow to close it. The planter has an adjustment mechanism for different seeds such as peas. Beets, onions, lettuce, etc. The planter hooks onto a handle(handle not included) Mechanism that attaches seeder to handle is included. To plant. You just push the handle to propel the planter down teh garden row. This is a really nice old planter, easy to use, and heavily made. Wheel moves freely, paint is maroon and in good condition. For auction is a John Deere FBB drill. It is in good condition. It has 16 openers on 8 inch spacings. This makes it about 10' 8" planting width. Its 13' overall. Drill box has 2 compartments. One for seed and one for fertilizer. You can seed and fertilizer at the same time. Boxes are good inside and out. This drill has a power lift. The openers drop when the rope is pulled. Pull again while moving and the power of the wheels will lift the openers. No hydraulic cylinder is needed. Therefore, it could be pulled by a pickup or larger atv. Drill meters are driven by drills wheels. It pulls easily. Because of its size, this drill would work good for the small farm or food plot guy. This is a used International Harvester/Farmall. Type C Duplex Planter with 5 seed plates. Model# CBP 5130. This item appears to be in good, restorable condition. Has rust and pitting. Does not appear to have any holes in the lid or hopper. No visible cracks in the casting. The lid hinges are bent slightly and will need to be bent back to original condition for the lid to close properly There is a dent in the tin on the Peas side. The planter came with both dry fertilizer boxes in very good condition when I bought it. However, it appears they came off of a different planter(IH 400 maybe? They fit width wise and mount properly on the main tube frame but they sit about 2" too high to mount up with the fertilizer drive. It will take a little fabrication to make them work. For sale are four(4) International Harvester" IH" metal corn/ seeder plates. These round rustic looking pieces are about 7 1/2" across and are in various stages of wear and rust. Weigh around 1 pound 10 ounces each. Used in a planter at one time. The teeth on all are worn down some(but fairly evenly) Not sure if these plates could be used as intended but a rehab project is possible. Many decorative options and uses. This is an awesome for your ATV. UTV or Truck. The system can be pulled by anything with a 2 inch hitch. The 3 Point hitch is the only unit i know of that offers down pressure and is able to lift at the press of a button. This is a great food plot system. Currently the drill is set up for corn but can be changed out for other seeds. The Disc really is sharp and cuts the ground good. The Drill has many options for how to plant. Selling a Tye. 7 ft. wide, minimum till, grain drill seeder in very good, field ready condition. Works great for wildlife food plots, landscaping, and grass seeding. I used this drill a few days ago to seed about 4 acres of food plots and it did a good job. Has 10 double disc openers with good blades and bearings- Rear packing wheels eliminate the need to pull a cultipacker or roller behind the drill- 8-inch spacings- Has large seed box for wheat. Soybean, etc. but also has settings on the seed chart for alfalfa. 3-point hitch hookup- Good seed tubes and springs- Clean. Solid, metal seed box- Can plant a variety of seed sizes and has the seed rate chart included- Front drive wheel powers the seed box and also adjusts to help control seed depth- Good seed meters. A few had hairline cracks that have been reinforced. Everything seems to work as it should on it. Everything turns as it should, all of the adjustments are free and working. It still has the seeding rate charts underneath the lid of the planter box. I believe it will go to the field and plant. It is hydraulic lift and you will need to put your own hydraulic cylinder on it, or we can sell you a new one if you need it. Overall it looks to be a pretty nice clean planter. Does have some surface rust on it, but nothing is rusted out. Would be great for the small farmer or for food plots.
