Hopper is part # 23620AA.There was a decal on it ... morethat says Patent 2,068,382 but it is mostly gone. From what I can find this is called a Richmond hopper. Hopper has surface rust and a small dent, the rust doesn't go through but will probably need some filler if you were going to restore this one. The cast iron hopper bottom has surface rust. The seed knockers all scrapers all have working springs. If you aren't looking to restore you could throw a plate in it with some graphite powder and it would work just fine. It has been greased regularly, it is very tight and everything moves freely without slop. Seed hopper is like new with no rust in it at all. Chain has been regularly lubed and is in good condition. Pack wheel is also free of slop. This planter can be used to plant a variety of seed including but not limited to corn, soy, sunflower, and bean. Here are two identical used lids off of the seed hoppers on a 7100 max-emerge planter. These are not warped or badly damaged. The end on the one as you see in picture. has the beginning of a crack in the end tab. Does not affect the hold down purpose of the tab. These each have the four tabs around under the lip of the lids. That is the only small crack I can see in them. Been in the barn for years. They need a little cleaning. Vintage old John Deere metal seed corn hopper planter garden decoration with lid. In good solid condition. Metal has about an 3" long hole towards bottom but still very tough metal(see picture) Green paint on hopper has been repainted at one time but very old paint. I think the yellow color is original as they tried painting around the lettering but not a 100% sure. The inside has been lightly coated with something purple.Unsure. The clip to hold bottom has a small break but there is enough metal clip to hold bottom. The lid has no patents as the other hopper I'm selling has embossed patents on the lid.
