Row width is set at 30" but could be adjusted. This is a 3 point mounted planter with cat 1 pins. Brackets are bolted on and are adjustable. Pins on brackets are low enough so that planter can be raised high enough out of the ground. Even for lower compact tractors. Seeding depth is adjustable with the quick adjust T handle. Planter has new truvee openers and dual guage wheels for accurate seed placement. Press wheels have adjustable down pressure. Seed tubes have sensors installed so that if a monitor wanted to be added at a later date. It could easily be done. This is a wheel driven plateless planter with factory transmission. Boxes have corn meters installed. Can be fitted ... morewith optional soybean or milo meters. Takes about a minute per row to change. I can exchange the corn meters for soybean meters if wanted. options: 1) I can install insecticide boxes(rear box that sets behind the seed box) for $100 per row. These are the disc blades that set in a v formation in front of each opener. They are used for clearing trash and clods out of the way for the seed opener to run on a level surface. This listing is for a good. Functional 2 row Blackhawk corn planter. I used the planter to plant about 1/2 an acre for the deer last year. They ate it all by August so I am planting clover this year. The planter is currently set for 36" rows and comes with four sets of plates. The fertilizer hoppers were rusted out when I got the planter so I used tin around the lower edge and plastic inside the hopper to make it functional. I used bungee cords to hold the fertilizer hoppers in place. The planter needs a new section of chain for the fertilizer drive. This item is sold as is. Where is. Cash at pickup is fine. You are bidding on a pretty good older Allis Chalmers. 3-Point Hitch, 2-Row Corn Planter. Everything seems to work as it should on it. We had it in the shop and checked it out. Drivechains and sprockets are all good, gears and bearings all seem good. It does have the"double disc" seed openers on it. It is all greased up, chains oiled and ready to go. It comes with 3 different sets of corn seed plates. I believe it is ready to take home and go to the field and plant corn. The lids for the seed boxes and the tops of the seed boxes are broken some as you can see in the pictures, but that does not really effect it working and planting. Overall it looks to be a pretty decent planter, but keep in mind it is an old planter and it is not perfect. It does have some wear on it, but still has lots of life left in it. John Deere 226-247 2 row 3 point corn planter
This is a John Deere 246-247 corn planter in restorable condition. It's not working like it sits. The fertilizer plates are rusted and frozen tight. Will not move at all. There is only one fertilizer hopper and its been repaired as you can see in the picture. It does have a good lid though. The seed hoppers are decent. One has rust through at the base. Both lids are good. The seed parts will move. I think if you either fix the fertilizer part or unhook it. The seeder will work. All chains are good from what I can see. This is a 2 row 3 point plate planter with new fertilizer cans. All new coulters, working row markers, seed level indicators on seed cans, adjustable depth setting for seed planting depth. I have a large assortment of extra plates for a variety of different seed types and sizes. This planter is in excellent condition and works as it was designed to. I used it for sweet corn, sunflower seeds, and food plots for wildlife habitat. Not very many of these left in full working condition, parts are still available from John Deer, not that any are needed. Paint and decals are all like new. There is a very small dent in one seed can that is merely cosmetic, other than that it is in perfect condition. Stored inside for the life of restoration.
