This super cool. Working CS&E(Chicago Surgical and Electric Co. vintage slide warmer is. About 26 in. X 8 in. X 3.5 in. The Electrical specifications are: 120 Volts. 1.3 Amps, 50/60 cycles. And 160 Watts. I tested it. And the plate warms up and stays warm. However, the red heating indicator light is not. Working correctly. It sometimes blinks but it does not stay on. Also. There is some fraying of the. Plug cord near where it connects to the slide warmer(see picture) However. It does not seem to have an effect on the function of the device. Laboratory Slide Warmer With Cover & Glass Thermometer Works Great
Nice Chicago Surgical Instruments slide warmer model 26000. This unit has been powered up to test it and it seems to heat up quickly and hold temperature well. We tested it at several power levels and it held temperature well at each level and the temperature was uniform across the surface within a few degrees. We allowed it to reach full temperature it seemed to top out at about 60 degrees Celsius. The unit itself is in excellent condition. The cover is solid. But has some scuffs, tape residue and some faded sharpie writing on it. This would be excellent for slide warming or any number of basic laboratory warming applications.
