Old Surge Electric Fencer Farm Barn Cattle Hit Miss Gas Engine Sandwich Milker
This is a rather scarce original Surge fencer from the Babson Brothers Company in Chicago. IL. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except for the small light bulb in the center of the bottom. I'm sure this would be an easy replacement. It is a very unusual design in that it has a glass bubble on it like an early electric meter. It measures about 6 inches in diameter and about 6 inches tall. The cord is a bit frayed so I didn't plug it in but I see no reason that it shouldn't work and it wouldn't be real tough to replace the cord. Surge is most noted for their dairy and milking equipment but also offered several livestock related items like this. They bought out the Sandwich Manufacturing company that made the engines and many other products including the Pine Tree milker. 1935 John Deere 1 1/2 Horse Hit and Miss Model E Gas Engine
Up for auction here is a John Deere 1 1/2 horse Model E hit and miss gas engine. The serial number tag on this engine is brass and the number is 331154 making this a 1935 engine. There are no cracks breaks or welds that I can find and the engine does run. Both the igniter and magneto have been rebuilt by a company called Mainely Magnetos out of Cross Lake. Maine. You can see their work at MainelyMagnetos.com. The cost was $198.00 and I do have the receipt for the work done. The engine will need to be picked up here in Epworth, Ia. within 2 months of auction end. Epworth is about 15 miles West of Dubuque, IA. Please feel free to ask me any questions.

Excellent rare cast iron tag from about 1880 I believe. Sign is 15-5/8" long. 4-3/4" wide, and 1/4" thick on the edge. Nice raised letters. This came off a old farm in Hustisford Wi. There was an old steam engine and a sawmill, walace tractor and other hit miss items. I think this was off of the steam engine or the sawmill. Item is 2 pounds 8 oz. I got this about 40 years ago. Maytag Meat Grinder Vintage Gas Engine Hit Miss Enterprise #12 Deer Camp Sausage
This offering is for a Restored-Reconditioned Maytag Meat Grinder attachment for the Maytag Washing machine provided by Maytag in the day. Circa 1928. Complete with the sausage stuffer tube. This one is marked with the Maytag name. This grinder with the one handle gear box would have come with the model 20-60-62-A-B-90-91-92-30-31-31 just about every washer built up into the 1940 era. This came from the Larry Benton Collection. Larry totally dismantled the gear box. And the grinder was also and cleaned to perfection. The sausage stuffer spout has great original plating still in place. This was set up for display but it could easily be put to use. Many people still use these at Deer Camp to grind the Deer burger and sausage. We will package and ship this with the US Postal Service. ~ VINTAGE MAYTAG # 6 WRENCH ~ VGC ~ OLD GAS ENGINE MULTI TOOL ~ HIT MISS ~
Offered is an old Maytag No. 6 wrench. For use with their small gasoline engines. Although I'm calling it a used wrench, I really can't see much indication that it was ever used. The wrench is 5-1/2 inches long and weighs about 2.6 ounces. The wrench lays flat and none of the openings or screwdriver are deformed. Most have their original plating inside. I didn't wire brush this wrench. The dark spots are plating loss(which isn't very thick on these wrenches) and tarnish. There is only one spot that actually shows old rust and it is shown in the last picture. This wrench could be brightened up some with a wire wheel. But I've left that to the new owner. Antique Vintage Hit Miss This listing is for an Antique Hit Miss Gas or Fuel Tank on Stand This is an old gas or fuel tank for a stationary engine. It is a nice smaller size. The tank is held on the short stand by two straps. I took it off the stand to check the bottom of the tank. Which looks good. There is a fuel gauge on the one side and a petcock& sediment bowl on a different side. There is a drainplug on the bottom accessable through a hole in the stand platform. I have never used this so I do not know the condition of that fuel gauge. There is rust/rusting inside so it would need to be cleaned out. Small shallow dent on the top that is hard to see and I have include a photo to try to show this. The petcock& sediment bowl would be taken off for shipping. Shipping cost is based on the assembled tank on stand. You are bidding on a real nice AB-33 Bosch magneto for a Fairbanks Morse Z engine. The mag does throw a spark but it's pretty weak. May only need a points filing or a charge. I have no idea. Points look very nice. Only damage is where the spark plug wire goes in, it's chipped out as you can see. Hard to come by mag so don't pass it up! This magneto will fit ALL sizes of Fairbanks Z engines, the only thing that changes between sizes is the trip dog. The one on this is for a 3hp. Feel free to ask questions. The bar axle is 28 inches long and I planned to shorten it a bit. The front caster is 4 inches in dia and I left the strap on it so you could weld to a frame of your own design. weight is about 28 lbs. Original Early Brass Grease Gun Pump Oiler Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor
This is a real neat old. Original brass grease pump or gun. It is called the N.F.O. Injector Pump and was made by the New York and New Jersey Lubricant Company as it says on the engraving on the body. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs anywhere on it. It measures about 1 3/8 inches in diameter and about 9 1/2 inches long without the tip. It has an ornate end on it. I'm not sure if it works as I haven't tried it but I would guess that it would need a new leather washer on the end of the plunger at the very least. The pump body is in great shape and the tip has a few dings in it from being used. It still displays very nicely and would look great all polished up with your early engine or horseless carriage! Original HARDER NY Dog Treadmill Goat Washing Machine Hit Miss Gas Engine NICE!!
Here's an early farm primitive that rarely becomes available on the market! It's an original dog or goat powered treadmill that was used for early belt power for a small belt driven machine like a washing machine. Corn grinder, or sausage grinder. It was made by George Harder in Cobleskill, New York with the last patent date on it being 1881. It is in excellent original condition as can be seen in the photos. There is a small repair on a spoke of the flywheel/pulley and there is some of the fabric belt that holds the tread together with some minor repairs on it. There are also a few of the wooden guides on the treads that have been replaced but all in all it has held up great for over 125 years! It has a good amount of original stenciling, pinstriping, and lettering still on it. There is some minor deterioration on the bottom of the ... morelegs.not bad, but I just wanted to mention it. There is a locking lever on it to set the angle of the tread for a desired speed that you would like to run your machine at. This piece displays and works very nicely and would be a fine addition to your early farm museum, collection, or display. I can ship this quite reasonably through Fastenal. It can stay here as long as needed as long as it's paid for and I accept many forms of payment. I can deliver to some engine shows or swap meets next year for free.
