Briggs&Stratton 5.5 HP Mower Engine Parts Vertical Shaft
Offered here is the top cowling for a Briggs Stratton 5.5 HP mower engine. This engine is being parted out because it has hit an obsticle with the mower blade and has bent the crankshaft a bit. Still runs but is not smooth, not going to use it any more because it might not be safe. The engine has not had much use since new, so all parts except the crankshaft should be in good shape. It still has good compression and spark, and starts readily. The flywheel key is not even marked. The engine has these numbers on the metal cowel that holds the recoil starter. As seen it is clean and complete. This engine has not been used much, still has very good compression and spark. The mounting bolts are included, and are clean as seen. Offered here is the cowling and recoil starter for a MTD 22" mower gasoline engine. This is a lightly used engine. can't say like new) 5.5 HP with the nomenclature numbers of 125K02- 0281-E1-040212-FB. I assume these to be Model, Code, Serial numbers. Hit a stump with this mower and bent the crank slightly. Still runs fine but isn't smooth, may be unsafe so I am parting out. UP FOR AUCTION IS A VINTAGE BRIGGS STRATTON MODEL NP. Type 306015, ser. 1462949 THAT IS ROPE START AND THIS MOTOR RUNS GREAT. THE SHAFT ON THIS ENGINE IS A 5/8" DIA. AND 2 9/32 LONG. THIS ENGINE WAS AN OLD MILITARY USED ENGINE AND THE WAY TO TELL THAT IS BECAUSE OF THE SPARK PLUG. THE GAS TANK HAS BEEN SEALED TO PREVENT RUSTING BUT THIS TANK WAS RUST FREE BEFORE SEALING.
