The only issue that this one has is that it is missing one hex head screw as ... moreshown in picture number 2. It has however not hindered it's performance and was a result of a company that cleaned and calibrated it. This unit has been in been in storage since removed from service due to the closure of this practice for about 5 years. It will need to be cleaned and any good phoroptor service company can fix the missing screw for probably no added charge( I believe the average cleaning and calibration is about $325) I do not have the original shipping box that this unit came in. I will be charging a $50 shipping and handling fee and will include insurance for the purchased price for the lower 48 State. Additional fees and conditions for other locations outside the lower 48 states. This is a very nice used piece of equipment. The listing buy it now price is a fair price for this item. It actually only took watching a couple youtube videos to get a basic understanding of how these things work and I was able to very accurately determine my own prescription and order my glasses. At this point I've had my fill of this experiment and would like to move on to something else. The original auction said the unit was in perfect working order but hadn't been cleaned. Again. I'm not an optician, etc. but it really does work flawlessly for me. None of the lenses are dirty or cloudy and the transitions between each diopter/ cylinder setting are all very fluid and mechanically sound, etc. Also including 1 Bausch& Lomb Green's refractor 5 diopter minus cylinder auxiliary lens. I purchased this separately because I have quite a high astigmatism and combining it with the cylinder options already available in the unit proved helpful in determining my correct prescription. They are uncleaned, just as I found them, shown in pic#4. Three lenses were loose. When I found the device. It had been packaged away since the 1930s and has not been used or seen the light of day until I purchased it this last week. The lenses appear to be in good shape. They must have been somehow cemented into place and the adhesive let go over time. They were wrapped in old fine paper. They may have light wear but no breaks or cracks,etc. The cast iron wall mount bracket has a thick black enamel/porcelain finish. There are a few minor chips and some normal light wear. Besides the normal light wear. It works great and looks great. Up for auction is an optical phoropter device apparently manufactured by a company called Optical Service. I cannot find any information about this company anywhere. This unit appears to be a copy of the Topcon VT-SE; for all I know it may be a Topcon VT-SE and just isn't labeled as such. Item has some scratches and shows signs of use. When turned. The knobs move the various lenses inside the device. I have not performed any further testing on the item. I do not know anything else about the item, so it is priced accordingly. For sale is a wonderful and working condition American Optical Company phoroptor eye medical device. We bought this from an estate sale of a former eye doctor. It was a looked at by a current eye doctor at the sale and was said to be in fine beautiful working order. Therefore we sell this piece in working condition and guarantee it. It was made by American Optical Company out of Buffalo New York and is model 11320 It is in a creamy lime green color which is one of the harder colors to get in this particular model. The overall condition of this piece appears to be excellent. There is some normal wear paint loss from dings and scrapes on the bottom. Please see detailed pictures for an up close view of this area.
