The turkeys have started laying early this year and my incubators are full with more than enough eggs for my purposes this year already. All the eggs are developing nicely and will be hatching soon. My stock is originally from eggs I hatched from breeders in South Carolina and Georgia. They have a nice dark. Red plumage and are very calm with even the toms eating out of my 4 year old son's hand without problems. The breeders are currently in their winter housing in the barn. I have 2 toms and 6 hens running together so there is excellent fertility. In fact the eggs I have had 90% hatch rate since January. Eggs are collected at least 3 times a day so that they do not get too cold. I do mark the egg with the date it was collected with a light pencil. This doesn't at all affect hatchability. Once the eggs are collected they are stored in my basement at about 55 degrees in an incubator turner to keep the yolks viable. While I have removed any large chunks. There may still be some dirt or straw on your eggs when you receive them. You may brush it off with a dry paper towel if you wish. Eggs for this auction will be collected starting 2-3 days prior to the scheduled end of the auction. Once the auction ends the eggs will be packaged in bubble wrap. Paper, and other packing materials. Each egg will be wrapped individually. I have had great success with my packing methods and have successfully shipped eggs throughout the country.
