I have(4) of these brooders. They have two of the GQF 300 watt heaters installed on this sheet metal hood. The hood is 54" x 57" I was brooding 250 quail chicks under each of these. I would guess that they could brood(125) chickens per brooder. I supported them with 4" x 4" blocks of wood. Adjust height appropriately.

I have used this Brooder twice it works great. It is a Brinsea Octagon TLC-4. It is in like new condition. Comes complete with the user manual. Has the original nesting cups that fit inside. A digital read-out thermometer, a light in the top, and has a place to add water for proper humidity. There are some flaws in the yellow plastic(I assume from the mold when it was made) it came out of the box that way as I purchased it new in the original box. These flaws are cosmetic only. CHICKEN PEEP BROODER ---5 Tiers with Feed & Water Troughs & Gates. 5 Feet Tall!
A five tier CHICKEN BROODER for raising PEEPS. Just in time for spring. This"antique" is still quite functional. Made of a galvanized steel(like old fashioned buckets) it consists of a frame, five tiers, five slide out trays that can be cleaned and catch, well, the'manure' food and water troughs for three sides per tier, and fencing pieces that serve as gates to keep the peeps from escaping. Measures: 60' tall(5 feet) 26' wide(2 feet. 2 inches) 36' deep(3 feet) Tiers(or stories) are about 10-11' high each. If you are looking at this ad. You probably realize this already, but the troughs for feed and water hang from it on hinges, and can easily be taken off, put on, replaced, etc. The trays that slide into each tier, pull out from the front. The peeps are'kept in' by virtue of a fence like material ... morewhich hangs like a shutter on each side of a given tier. The troughs are in place for the photo, but the fencing is not. Missing: two pieces of fencing/gates and a large and small trough. In other words. There's enough to use four of the five tiers, but if you wanted to use the fifth tier, you'd need to replace troughs and fencing. Condition: appears to be intact and in relatively good shape except for the missing parts. There's abrasions and a light"rust" I don't think galvanized can rust. So I'm guessing this is just crud that could be wire brushed off) It needs a thorough cleaning, and one tier can't be used. Otherwise, seems all here. Here is a vintage or antique NOS? Blue Flame Oil Burning Brooder from Sears. Roebuck and Co. This may be missing parts other than the canopy. Please look at the photos and decide what is there for yourself. I dont know what it is supposedto look like when completed. Buy it as a parts unit or restore it. I do not see a date on this. This comes in its original box and with its original instructions. The box is just a plain cardboard box that has lots of wear. It is dirty, has rips tears and holes and is missing a flap. Someone wrote on the side of the box 1941 brooder. The instructions have some wear as well. They have yellowed or discolored. It is very dirty, especially the back page. There is edge and corner wear, some marks here and there and a rip near the top right corner. Looking at the instruction sheet I see a canopy. I do not have ... morethe canopy. I am not sure if this came with one(there really isn't any room in the box for it) or if you would have purchased it seperately. The pieces I do have look like they have not been used. They are a little dirty from years of storage in an open box. There is some minor wear for the same reason. The container that you would put the kerosene in is clear glass. It is in nice shape. The bowl that it sits in has some minor scratches or marks, probably from it being moved around with the bottle in it. There is some minor wear around the temperature control. The metal tubing on the underside looks like it is in great shape. There are a few scratches and some paint loss on the base. This is apx. 40 inches long. Included with this are a couple of booklets. You will get Illustrated Poultry Primer. The last reprint date on this is 1919. This comes to you in used condition with some wear. Thete is edge and corner wear. There are some rips and tears here and there as well as some light creases and bent corners. There is some writing on the cover. The pages have yellowed some. Chick Battery Brooder on rack with casters. This unit will safely brood baby chicks from day old to about three weeks of age. Our unit was converted to accomodate smaller species( partridge in particular) by removing side feeders and/or waterers so that chicks would not get"lost" away from heat or drown in water troughs. Smaller mesh floor wire may also be removed if brooding larger species like chickens or turkeys. Capacity: Each level will handle about 30 quail or partidges. 25 pheasants, 15 chickens, or 8 turkeys up to about three weeks when the young chicks or poults should be removed to larger brooding quarters on the floor. Sanitation: The value of this unit is that is keeps the small chicks away from their own manure as the manure readily drops thru the mesh wire flooring onto removable metal pans. These should be slid out ... moreand cleaned daily. Caretaking: Chicks of the smaller species(quail up thru pheasants) can be fed and watered with small feeders and fount waterers(you provide) inside of the batteries by gently sliding the battery forward on the rack and lifting the roof lid. This allows operator easy access for caretaking. Removal of dead birds, etc. Battery brooder should be set up in a draft-free(but well-ventilated) room. i.e. a room with air changeover but minimal to no drafts. For smaller birds, the side meshes may be partially blocked with cardboard, etc to prevent drafting. Ships with removable side feeders and watering troughs. This unit has also been modified from the OEM wiring so that the"attraction light" remains on constantly, and does not shut off when the thermostat shuts the heat off as it did from the manufacturer. This helps prevent the baby chicks from getting lost out away from the heat when the light goes off.

Antique 1916 Brooder Coal Stove No. 18 from the Buckeye Incubator Co. Straight from a farm in Upstate NY is a Buckeye Colony Brooder coal stove. It was used to keep the chicks warm. Patented in 1916. No. 18. With a 4" Monarch flue from the Wrightsville How Co. of Wrightsville. PA. Measures 21.5"H* 12"D* 11"W. Flue measures 24"H with a diameter of 3.5" at the widest part. Weighs approximately 40lbs. Has rust from age, but all parts are still intact.
