This is a powerful mains operated Gallagher fence energiser with a specified range for a single wire of 75 Km and 25 Km for multi-wire. These distances will obviously be reduced with touching vegetation especially if wet. It has a stored energy of 3 Joules that gives an output voltage of 8400 Volts and under a load of 500 Ohms it will produce 4800 Volts. There is also a half power terminal available. There is a built in lightning protector to safeguard the internal electronics. On the front panel there are two LED displays along with a bar graph all of which show how the energiser is performing. The right hand display indicates the exact voltage in kilovolts that is being applied to the fence. I bought these two units 2 years ago to start protecting my deer food plots in east Texas. They worked very good but they won't work for me because they will not keep cows out or at least the bull that just takes the fence down. They sat this past year in the garage and I'm not sure if the batteries are still good. I doubt that they are but I will try to bring them back to life and trickle charge them. Only one unit has the connecting wires but another one can easily be made. Just google the model number for more info on them. These units sell for 180.00 plus tax new, save a lot of money and buy these. These units work perfectly when I put them up, sold as is. I used this fencer in a protected location for one summer before selling my livestock. It has a fuse protection and a high/med.low setting. This is a very nice Gallagher M1000 fence engergizer. I bought this used. And have never used it. I did perform testing on it though, as shown in the photos. I have a basic electric fence tester that I use on my pet electric fence(I have a Labrador that likes to garden) The test is basic, the light illuminates when the stored up charge is discharged. The display on the front of the unit lets the user know the voltage discharge. As shown in the photos, the test light lit up every time the unit discharged. The back of the unit says it has a pulse interval of 1.27 seconds, and has a peak voltage 6.99 kV(6990 volts) This unit is ideal for sheep, and is will power up to 250 acres(34 miles) of multi-wire permanent fence. The q uickscan output Voltage bar graph shows output voltage of the energizer at a glance and a digital output reading.
