The instruction booklet is in terrible shape, but it does show pictures of the tool being used on little lambs and calves. The tool is 9 1/2" long down each handle and 4" across the handles. You squeeze the handle together to retract the rounded prongs at the end. Condition is varied. The tool itself is in very good shape and appears to be unused-there is a little discoloration to the metal from handling. The box is beat up with lots of old tape. Masking tape, missing flaps, tears, creases, stains, etc. The instruction booklet is pretty well shredded-lots of tears, missing pieces, dog-ears, stains, water stains, grime and so on. Dehorner/Disbudder Rhinehart X-30 3/4" Goats & Calves Used Works Well
I have an older model Rhinehart goat or calf dehorner. It is the model 30X and is 3/4" diameter. It says 20032 watts and 110/120 volts. I used it for goats and also baby calves and it worked well. I just plugged it in and it gets red hot in a couple minutes. It does have a shorter cord which is the way it came when I bought it new. Cord is only 12" long but is used to be put on a heavy type extension cord. Has some rust but it doesn't bother it for working. Shipping is Priority at $8.00. I accept Paypal. This one is in excellent condition and has most of the original paint so not sure how old it is. It is a big one. Measures 37 1/2 inches long, weight is 14 pounds. Embossed on the cutter is' MODERN DAIRYMAN NO. 3' and' THIS SIDE OPPOSITE HEAD' I have had the blades out and polished some surface rust off, they seem to be still sharp, see no reason this would not work like it did when made if you are planning on using it. This is a very nice clean James Scully. Pomperoy, PA dehorner tool. It appears to have seen little use. This dehorner is a large unit( number 6 cast into cutter) and used for larger livestock to remove the horns. The total length of the cutter is 46" from tip to end of handles( provides great leverage) The two flat"V" blades are very sharp. The cutting head opening is 4 3/4" wide and 3 1/2' long(please see pictures) It has a heavy iron cutter head and straight tight wood handles. The handles and cutter head movement is good. But a little tight. It could use a little oil for better motion( i'll leave that to the buyer) I tried to provide best pictures of the actual item offered. Please ask any questions that you may have. This being a vintage item. Is being offered with no returns. Shipping to lower 48 states only!
