Coast to Coast Electric Fencer Charger Controller Used. Excellent condition. Works the same as it did when it came out of the box many years ago. It's the older transformer type so it's not rated in miles of fence. The instant arc type need that designation because the fence itself acts like a capacitor and absorbs that instantaneous arc and the longer the fence the less effective they become. The old transformer type like this are far less susceptible to this phenomenon. Also these older types will actually burn off weeds and are less susceptible to lightning damage. The nameplate says Coast to Coast but I'm pretty sure Holdem made it and that's the only type I will ever use and I've been doing cattle for over a half century. The plug in chopper on the bottom is brand new and they usually last about 5 to 10 years. They ... morewere getting tough to find for awhile but now with internet that isn't such a problem. The two hot terminals are high power and low power and were principally designed for use where the high was for the fence and the low was for the cow trainers in the barn to encourage the cattle to back up a little in their stanchions to make their deposit in the gutter and not where they would lay down in it. It's slow make and break type and one of the lights indicates that the fencer is on and working and the other indicates if the fence is shorted out by the reed canary in the north swamp. Model 900 American FarmWorks Dyna-Charge Low Impedance- 6 Joule Energy Output I bought this fence charger over 10 years ago& it has always given our fences a great Charge. Over the years its been repaired twice for whatever happens to these things when lightening gets a little too close. Well it happened again& our repair guy moved on so we decided to get a new one. The charger is rated for up to a 100 miles of fence. It comes with the original Installation& operating instructions. As far as I know ZAREBA either took over FarmWorks or the name just changed over the years. On the back cover of the instruction booklet(see photo) is the web site for FarmWorks. If you go to this site, the ZAREBA site comes up(the 800# is no good) Over the years the fencer has always been operating from the house since we we didn't have electric ... morein the barn so I guess I'm saying its fairly dust& barn dirt free. When I took it apart a few months ago to look at the inside I misplaced 2 of the 8 screws on the back panel which doesn't hurt any thing but I thought I'd mention that. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them if I could. I don't know too much what the things inside are& besides fixing a plug on something that would be my electrical ability.
