ca.1890 German painted wooden flat hay wagon/cart for horse pull toy w/hay bale
Ca. 1890 German wooden hay cart/wagon meant to be paired with a horse(or oxen. Etc. pull toy. Paint is original midnight blue color with tiny cream stripe detailing, typical of wooden toys and farm/barn buildings of that era. Wooden wheels are finished off with bands of tin around the outer part of the wheels. There is a tiny metal chain attached at the front which no doubt was meant to be attached to the pull toy. This comes in two parts. The flat cart fits into the front wheels/tongue section with a pin. There is a narrow piece on the back of the cart which can be raised or lowered. One rear wheel appears to have been repaired, and there is a different color blue paint used in a part of it(see photo#6) Otherwise in very good played-with condition with tiny nicks to wood and paint as is to be expected with toys of this age. Measures 21 inches ... morelong in overall length; cart only is 10 3/8 inches long and 5 3/4 inches wide. Hay bale, made of real hay, is a great decoration piece to go along with the cart. Measures 5 1/2 inches long, 2 3/4 inches wide and 3 inches high.

I DO NOT CHARGE HANDLING FEES. I try to estimate the postage as close as possible. Insurance coverage is optional. I will NOT close my auctions early. So please do not ask.
