20 Lapierre Tree Saver type Sap Spouts This listing is for used Lapierre Tree Saver type plastic spouts. They can be used for Birch or Maple sap collection. These smaller diameter spouts will cause 30-35% less damage than the tradition 7/16" spouts. These are clean and ready to use. They require a 5/16" diameter hole drilled 1-1/2" into the maple tree. Install only 3/8- 5/8" into the tree for proper sealing. During tapping the spout will seal tight and the hammer will bounce back off the spout to a"thud" sound signaling the spout is tightly installed. DO NOT DRIVE THIS SPOUT ALL THE WAY INTO THE TREE! Handmade. Primitive Wooden Maple Syrup Tree Taps, 141 taps with 19 Hangers Handmade and old- almost all are sturdy and range from about 4 to about 9 inches. These came from an old barn in upstate New York and were used by a friends Grandfather- he laughs and says that things were tight and you had to come up and you had to be creative. There are still about 19 of the original bucket hangers. These are still pretty sturdy for the most part and I could see them still being useful. Please let me know if you have any questions! These have been used. They all still have a piece of rigid tubing attached as seen in the pictures. If you have the time to remove the previous tubing then this is the auction for you. Their condition is mostly"good. None are terrible. But they've been nicked up from usage so I won't try and fool anyone by saying they're"excellent. The price is close to fair. I would say that if you're in the market for pristine taps, then you'll want to pass on this auction and buy new from a maple dealer. But if you have time to sit down in a chair and work on removing the tubing that's still on them then you'll keep yourself from having to pay for new taps. I've cleaned up a couple hundred used taps in the past and sold them on ebay, but I have a youngster now and don't have the time to get these prepped.
