Up for auction is a USED MPH Z15 Radar Gun. I checked it out this afternoon and it worked as intended. Please note that it requires being plugged into a cigarette/accessory jack in a motor vehicle to operate. I notice in the photo the plug is not showing. It is behind the radar gun and is a standard plug that fits into a cigarette/accessory jack. There is no box or instruction manual. However. if I can figure out how to use it. anyone can! MPH Bee 36 Ka Band Vehicle Radar unit with two Antennas tuning forks and more.
Unit is fully functional. It includes the computer unit. Hand control, dash unit, front and rear antennas, two tuning forks and some mounting equipment. I tested the unit and it all works. You may have to download mounting instructions. Everything needs to secured and installed properly in order for it to work properly. I had a law enforcement officer help me test out the unit to make sure it worked, it functioned well and passed both fork tests. Everything was dismounted from a former squad car. The manufacture or a repair center did some type of calibration on the unit before it was removed from a squad car. It had an inspection tag on it. It plugs into the cigarette lighter, or you can hard wire it. Everything is in good shape, there is some minor corrosion on one of the terminals but only on the exterior of the plug, it does not have ... moreany residual effects. Some of the wires have some discoloration and the computer has some mounting scratches. I really do not know a lot about the system except that they are usually extremely expensive. They appear to get accurate speeds from the Kustom 35& 65 MPH tuning forks when I tried it, but again, I have no idea if I am doing it right. Each unit was tested with both front and rear antennas and all work. All K band antennas were working and got accurate speeds of tuning forks. Beyond that it was too complicated to test. MPH Python K-Band Police Radar - Antenna & Remote - MPH/KPH Readings!
This is an MPH Python K-Band Police Radar Setup. This unit will operation in moving or stationary mode and also has a 3 window display for continuous tracking. All components are in very good physical condition with light scuffs and wear from normal usage and installation. It comes with one antenna. The unit can support dual antennas(front/rear) simply by adding a second antenna. The main counter powers on properly and passes all self tests. The unit was tested against several K-band forks and at low speeds it was reading accurately. But at higher speeds it added 1mph to the reading(ie: 65mph fork reported 66) This will be fine for recreational use, although if you need certifiable results the unit may need to be recalibrated. All lights/LED's on the display illuminate properly and it looks to be in good operating condition. This unit ... morewill also report speed in KPH simply by holding the"KPH" button on the console when you have a target reading. When you release the KPH button the speed reports back to MPH. The remote control is working perfectly and can control the counter with no issues. I do not have any calibration certificates for this unit and I do not know when it was last calibrated. The unit has signs of wear and tear from regular use as it was previously in service before being traded in for new equipment. There are multiple scratches in the paint as well as some scuffs on the housing but there does not appear to be any major damage. The case's housing also shows signs of wear and tear from regular use. We have tested this unit and it appears to be in good working condition. As you can see in the pictures we obtained two readings. On the first test we clocked a vehicle going 25 miles per hour and on the second we got a reading at a distance of 296 feet. This is an MPH Python Series II KA-Band Police Radar Setup. This unit will operate in moving or stationary mode and also has a 3 window display. All components are in good physical condition with light scuffs and wear from normal usage and installation. It was a field-used unit so it does have velcro/tape residue on the bottom of it for mounting. It comes with two KA-Band antennas(front/rear) along with cables. The main counter powers on properly and passes all self tests. I connected an antenna to the front antenna port and tested the radar with a tuning fork and it reported the proper speed on the fork. I connected the second antenna to the rear antenna port and tested the radar with the fork again and it also reported the proper speed.
