The cap badge dates this item to between 1974-1996. The hat has a small sticky label attached to the inner band stating 6 7/8, which I assume refers to the size of the hat. The circumference is approx. 53cm. Overall. The hat remains in quite good condition for its age. The outer surface remains clean. Very close inspection reveals wear, with some small holes to the felt, as well as some loose stitches. Internally, a brown paper type substance has been attached to the green felt, which has become torn. The green felt beneath remains clean& free from rips. This is a great 8X10 glossy photograph from the Albany New York Fire Department Rescue Squad No.1. It shows a cute child dressed in her Sunday best wearing a Cairn Senator fire helmet from the rescue company. The engine appears to be an American LaFrance and is very well equipped with the latest firefighting tools of that time. You have to admit this is a cute photo. Photograph was taken by J.H. Winchell III Photographer. Albany, NY. Condition is very good with three small marks on the right side border from having been kept in a three ring binder.
