Sirchie Fingerprint Labs, vintage, fp cardholder & kit
A retired Federal Agent gave me this as a gift. It is a vintage fingerprint card holder. When you remove the center storage box. You have a slate type area on top to spread ink. There is also storage to hold ink tubes and ink rollers. We do high volume fingerprinting in our gun permit classes and needed to get more modern equipment, but people sure do like commenting on"the Al Capone style technology" when we used this. Perfectly servicible but shows much wear.

Sirchie mug shot camera consists of two components: Sirchie control head part#XZ107CM-A Sirchie dual frame identification camera part#XZ507BC-A, This also includes the power cord and a Polaroid 4X5 film holder that is missing the lever. I tested it. The flash works and it appears that the shutter is also working but I don't have film to try it. The handle looks like it may have been glued on the bottom but seems to be holding fine. Up for listing is a used sirchie fingerprint kit. This kit has the base components with additions. The kit comes with black powder. White powder. Fiberglass brush. Revlon powder brush. Two different rolls of tape and backing sheets. Also I added scissors and two sets nitrile gloves along with the revlon brush for the white powder. Surplus from local municipality. I acquired a few Sirchie cases and this. Was hesitant on plugging it in but cord was in good shape and there were no signs of damage so I did. Left it plugged in for over an hour. No problems. Bravely played with selector knob. No problems. I drew the line with attaching the probes. This is a neat piece of law enforcement memorabilia. Made by Sirchie Finger Print Labs. Inc. Moorestown, NJ, USA. The case is really neat with two hinges and latches. The top opens and then it splits in half to provide a work surface. The ink would be spread on the right side with the roller(both included) then the print card is clamped on the left. Also included are two stainless steel accessory pieces. I am not sure about their function, but both are engraved with the maker's name and address. In fact the ink and roller are also branded Sirchie. The case measures 21 1/2" wide open and 11" wide x 5 1/2" deep x 8" high(with handle) closed. A great display piece for your collection. I can think of no other useful purpose it might have. Probably dating back to the 60’s or 70’s. It was designed to be used with 4x5 film. Depending upon what film holder was being used it would accommodate either standard sheet film or Polaroid sheet film, delivering two-2 ¼” x 3 ¼” images on a single sheet of film. The sliding Graflex Graflock back Focus/viewing Back(which can be used on press or view cameras) was moved between frames. A“ground-glass type” plastic viewing screen allowed for centering the“bad guy’s” image in the frame. There is no lens/shutter. All of the camera functions appear to be working well, including the XZ107CM-A control unit, the lens aperture controls, the shutter mechanism, the electronic flash the film back, etc. When plugged in, the camera remains in"Standby" mode until the"On" button is pressed, at which time ... morethe flash is charged and the"1" frame is enabled. When the control unit beeps, the flash is ready to use, and the user simply presses"Expose" to make the first image on the print. Inside there are brushes and powders and cards for arrest(check out all photos) This was purchased about 20 years ago to fingerprint children when the child abduction scare was popularized but has been stowed away– if you are a law enforcement collector this is a very nice clean item for your museum! or to teach children how they took fingerprints“in the movies. You know how much fun this would be…who used that glass on the sink? Fingerprint! Remember. This is used and I am not a fingerprinter- there are no"new" kits to compare this to- it appears to have"everything, ... morebut I am not in law enforcement and do not know the inventory when this was new.
