I'm not familiar with these so will have to describe best I can. This mask looks like new and to be unused but I'm not certain of its history. The mask has markings on both sides and top which I will list to help those interested know what its uses are. The markings are: US M. M/L, M which are on top of face shield area. On bottom left of breather is: 91, MSA 5073, M1/ C6. On bottom right of mask is: 92, MSA, 5479, M2/ C2. On back of mask strap in a blue stamp is: MSA-22940-257. The canister is marked: HST91B005-013. It is a hard case with an old mining style gas mask. It was last inspected in 1938 so has to be older than that. On the outside of the case it reads MSA Ammonia Gas Mask. Mine Safety Appliances Co. Efficiency- Service- Safety- Pittsburg. PA. All original with all parts. Paper on inside with instructions/ Includes mask with hose to canvas bag holding filter, extra filter, canvas strap. Only problem I can see are the lens. Both have spidered cracks, probably from heat. Should be able to replace from other gas masks. Case in pretty good shape, with some wear to covering of carrying handle. Still, pretty good shape for as old as it is. Plastic, metal, acrylic, elastic, cloth gas mask from a man who had owned it for some time,+ but had never used it. Some wear is seen on the edges of the goggles. The letters& numbers I put in the title are all on the mask. There are others“inside” or illegible markings on the cloth as at the top back of the head straps. This mask has on its front: 2 large plastic lenses encased in metal edges which clamp on the rubber– these measure almost 3 ¾” across the top by 3 ¼” vertically; the piece near the“mouth” appears to be“complete” inside& out– the exterior’s plastic“switch” turns, thereby extending the tubular& hose pieces inside the mask; I am unsure what the purpose is of the round metal objects with ... moremesh covers on either lower cheek, but inside the large rubber pouches under them are large metal pieces or“containers” which appear to connect to the exterior round metal objects with mesh covers on the lower cheeks. The rubber is supple& in good condition, other than some beginning deterioration at the top between the lenses& just at the lower corner of the rubber mask between the lower left lens& the upper corner of the piece near the“mouth” There are 3 places on either side of the mask where black elastic is attached to secure the mask to its user’s head: the hinges above the eyes, to the outside nearest the upper parts of the lenses, on the outsides on the lower rubber pouches. Each hinge is incorporated into the basic rubber mask. At the top of the wearer’s head is a double layer thick patch of textured material(3 3/16” by 1 7/8” by 1/8” to which are sewn the elastic bands which attach to the hinges on the mask: the top 2 straps now measure about 7/8” by about 10” but these are“elastic” straps which have lost most of their elasticity, so they would originally have measured a shorter length as they are now over“stretched” Their lengths could be adjusted with t

This mask. As is one other I'm listing, is from a military estate. I obtained them and really know nothing about mask so will try and describe best I can with the identification marks. This mask looks to be unused although I do not know its history and in fine condition showing only light scattered storage marks. On top of mask is marked US M and on the separate protective mask is M/L which I believe is medium/ large. Stamped on the strap in blue ink is MSA- 12940-149. The canister that's on it is marked MS T91 B005-013. Other marks are 91 MSA 5073 M1 C1 M3 and MSA 11 91-16. Hope this helps someone looking for one of these because I have no idea what the markings mean. Comes in a protective nylon or vinyl case with belt attachments. Thanks

There are no breaks in the rubber and the straps that hold the mask to the head are complete and good. The carrier bag has no tears and needs cleaning but is in very good condition. The lenses on the mask are in used condition and have some mars and streaks. They should clean off nicely but they will still show some of the mars. I am selling the mask in as is condition and as I received it. The mask may be US issue but I am Not sure and I don't know but I think it may be US Army.
