The upper cone-shaped light housing oscillates back and forth(left to right) and the reflector inside the housing oscillates up and down simultaneously. The effect is like a flashing light. The first of it's kind. Made in Chicago Ill. in the Mars Bar Candy Bar factory in the late 50's or very early 60's. The light operates as it should, and is in great condition. This light came from an ambulance from a volunteer fire department near Dayton Ohio. This is an EXTREEMLY hard to find item and a must for any collector. Here is a pair of The Light From Mars 888 flush mount lights the lights do work well I had a new gear put in one of the lights that did not work and know both of them work great they came off of the same fire truck. As you can see in the photos the chrome ring that goes around the light on the front side does have some rust coming threw and on the back side it does have rust as well. The serial number on the lights are close together the faded tag is serial#12247 and the red tag serial# 12256 these are nice and hard to find lights and would look good on a fire truck or for any collector to have. Vintage. CHAMPION Model 300 3-bulb Rotating BEACON LIGHT. This is a 6 volt light. Made by Champion DARBY Co. Puts out 100 Flashes Per Minute. Measures 9 inches high x 9 inches round. I attached this to a 6 volt charger and it rotates and lights up with NO problems. Has rust on the top and on the ring that holds the lens on. I have shown a picture of the lens attached( see last photo) but this will NOT be included in the auction as per Ebay rules. It is cracked and has spidering all over it. The lens is 8 inches round by 5 inches high. The light needs a new lens gasket and could use a new bottom gasket, but the one that is on it is still good and has been pained red. Up for auction is a Blackburn Quadrant front and Mars 3.0 rear light set plus helmet light. All work fine. The front Quadrant light has 4 LED lamps. There are three modes. All LED's on solid, The two larger LED's on solid with the two side LED's flashing and with all 4 LED's flashing. There is a handlebar mount and the light easily removes from the mount for when you don't need the head light or if you want to use it as a flashlight. The rear Mars 3.0 light has 5 rear facing red LED's and two side facing amber LED's. There are three modes of operation. With all LED's on solid. With all LED's flashing and a chase mode where the LED's flash in a moving pattern. A seatpost mount is included. This auction is for a very nice vintage fire truck light. Chrome plated flashing red light has a tag that reads THE LIGHT FROM MARS MODEL 888 MARS SIGNAL LIGHT CO. MAPLES. FLORIDA. Light measures approx. 10 1/2" long overall from the back edge to the front of the domed glass cover on the front; and approx. 6 3/4" across. Glass cover protects the moving and flashing light assembly inside. Chrome is shiny and intact, has a few surface scratches and light tarnish in places; no dents or damage. Glass is intact with very light surface scratching in a couple of places. Light moves and flashes when the wires are touched to a battery. Light looks to be intact and original.
