I found the same one online at collectorsweekly.com under a Firefighting memorabilia column. Nozzle shows some scuffs. Nicks and scratches. It has a lever for Straight stream or fog. Lever turns freely back and forth. Lettering is worn and faded on fog and straight stream. Reverse side has manufacturers name but I cant make it out because it is also worn and faded. WW2 ROYAL CANADIAN NAVY RCN MARKED BRASS FIREFIGHTING NOZZLE SHIPBOARD HMCS SHIP
My uncle spent up until 1946 on his ship H.M.C.S. MASTADON in Esquimalt. BC. He said that other ships being decommissioned used to lie at the graving docks and the gravers would cut holes in the hulls at the upper decks and push nearly new machine shop tools into the ocean. He and his shipmates would scuttle around to those docks and salvage the odd bit. This is the one thing that survived and he let it lay in his shed for the intervening 60 years. It's a C broad arrow marked shipboard firefighting nozzle. With it's collar, it measures 14" long, 12" without. The outlet is a 3/4" choke but the hose diameter was 2" ID. This is a Steel fire Hose Nozzle that stands 11-15/16" tall. the opening is 1-3/4" and the base is 2-1/2" across the top measures 1-1/8" across with a 1/2" opening that is not perfectly round. We did not find any manufacturers markings. Vintage Brass Elkhart "Chief" antique firefighting breakdown nozzle
This auction is for a very nice solid brass vintage Elkhart Chief breakdown firefighting nozzle. I acquired this nozzle in the late 1980's from a Kelly Springfield tire plant in Cumberland Md. when it was shut down. This nozzle is fully functional and in great condition. The flat leather handles are in very good condition. No cracking. I had it polished and lacquered right after I got it. The lacquer has faded some over the years but is still in great shape and would be an awesome addition to a collection or to display on an antique apparatus. The tip of the nozzle is engraved with W-ORD. U.S. 634. I have no clue what this may mean. Offered are two S&H FSS FIREFIGHTING TWIN TIP FIRE HOSE NOZZLES. One nozzle is in great condition. The other was in great condition until some needed the adjusting handle more that I did. Both do work fine. The one just needs a handle to turn it on and off. Both have stream or spray adjustments. I nozzle hole is 1 1/4 inches. Thhe spray and the stream are both 3/4 NH. What else is there to say. This looks to be a hot. Dry summer.
