Elkhart 3-Piece Fire Fighting Nozzle Set Deck Gun? Straight Stream Chromed Brass Fittings I bought this at a charity auction for a good cause. It’s not the kind of thing I’d normally get. But you know how charity auctions are… I know virtually nothing about it except that I took it to a friend who was a firefighter for years and he said that he believed it may be for a deck gun. The largest piece is marked“Elkhart D” and 2” The second piece doesn’t have any brand name on it. But is marked 1¾” The third piece again has“Elkhart E” and is marked 1.50. There are obviously some signs of use. But all the threads and gaskets are smooth and move freely and completely assembled stand about 14” tall. The bottom of the largest piece is about 3½” across. Together the three pieces weigh a little under 14 lbs. and I was told it was all chromed ... morebrass. Please see the pictures for a more complete description and don’t hesitate to ask questions or for more pictures if you can’t see something. I’m happy to help. But perhaps not the best photographer. For some reason the camera flash made the overall color of the picture a little more red, so I included shots both ways. Unfortunately I had to use the flash to show some of the details. FOR FIRE TURN BOTTOM UP- and instructions for charging and insurance requirements. Another attached label- UNDERWRITERS' LABORATORIES, INC. CLASSIFICATION A-1- NO. D 86015. The serial number is 169570 which I understand dates it to the mid to late 1940's. It is in good condition but has scratches. Dings and dents to the finish so would need some restoration. Conn Elkhart 8H Trombone with Rose Brass Bell / Vintage
Attention All Trombone collectors. This is a Conn 8H a large bore tenor trombone. I have spoken to a few Conn players/Experts. The trombone is a mixed instrument. The slide was made in 1969. In Elkhart Indiana. The bell section is a good story. I bought the instrument from a music store in Dallas. Known for its sheet music collection going out of business(maybe Whittle's) in the early 1980's. I was a trombone student playing in North Texas Lab Band system. I had a fellow trombone player/ repair guy who worked at the music store in Lewisville TX. I think his name was Brain.Anyway we swapped bell sections because I loved the way the non lacquered bell sounded. That's correct.NO LACQUER! It has a great tone and does not suffer from the typical over blow buzz. or ring. that a great deal of Conn trombones seem to have. The bell is ... morefrom most likely the Elkhart factory. It might have been part of a collection of"demo" bells warehoused in Elkhart and were never completed. It sounds like those bells got moved to the Abilene Factory in the early 70's when they moved. The trombone has normal wear and tear due to being played. No major dents some scratches. The trombone does include the case. The case is in good shape but has some nicks. The felt is in good shape. There is a piece of masking tape where the nut is to protect the felt. If you are interested in listening to the instrument through the phone, I am willing to do that when I have time to do so. The Selmer Bundy trumpet you are viewing has only cosmetic issues. I would put the lacquer at close to 95% The valves are quick and smooth and all of the slides are slick(see photo) The compression is good. There is a small dent in the main bell slide and several dents clustered at the player end of the main tube. The bell has some lacquer loss on the rim. Overall. It is a good instrument for a beginner or band member- most of the cosmetic issues are not a distraction. The case is hard shell, plush lined and has no issues. The opening bid is fair. Been sitting in smoke-free(no pun intended) and, generally, dust-free storage for many years. Measures approximately 6-inches-in-length with a base diameter of approximately 3-inches. The hose diameter is approximately 2-inches. Weighs approximately 4 pounds. It is in nice, but obviously, used condition, as you may be able to see in the photos. There is a small dent on the outside of the bell about 1 3/4" up from the lip. There is some tarnish or rust around this same area(see photo) All the other parts appear to be very good. No other dents, just some signs of wear from being played. All the parts are good, they unscrew quite easily. The bell measures 7" wide. Comes with a mouthpiece, but no case. It measures about 23 1/2" tall x about 8" in diameter. Top screws off/on easily. The hose is in good condition. The cylinder is copper with a brass logo& shield. In very good condition. Antique Trumpet Brass Nickel Plated 1920s Panamerican Elkhart Ind. USA
Antique nickel plated brass trumpet from the 1920s marked Panamerican. Made in Elkhart, Ind. USA Also marked 69658 below the finger buttons and 3987 on the bottom. The finger buttons are mother of pearl and move up and down easily It is in as found condition. Needs cleaning, but overall is in really good condition-no major dents or bumps, just a couple dings on the curved part of the valves( but the flare/horn is very good, not dented. Inside the flare it is gold colored. The rest is silver colored. Weighs 2 lb. 7.5 oz and measures almost 21 1/2 inches. I am not knowledgeable on musical instruments.
