Vintage Professional Jazz Elkhart Indiana Bb Trumpet Polished Raw Brass
For your consideration is a vintage professional jazz Bb trumpet"The Elkhart" Made by the Elkhart Band Instrument Company, Elkhart Indiana, serial# 14xxx, in excellent material and cosmetic condition, ready to play in all respects. According to research, the production date was somewhere between 1924-1928. The horn is in incredible condition for an 80+ year old trumpet. There is articulate and detailed art deco engraving on the bell. Showing the elegant bust of an Elk, surrounded by a large engraved heart, with the label"THE ELKHART BAND INST.CO. Elkhart Indiana USA" also engraved on the bell below. The construction of the horn is solid, with uniquely designed, very sturdy bracing at both ends of the lead tube. The finger buttons have Mother-of-Pearl inlaid tops. The measured bore is approx. 0.460" Is 19" long, ... morewith a 4 1/2" bell. The original lacquer has been removed. And the finish is polished raw brass. The horn has very bold. Centered tone. Articulation is exact, and chromatic slotting is definite, particularly in the upper range above the staff. The valves are quick and responsive, and all slides move with ease. Numbers 1,2, and 3 slides are marked with a line inside for a quick and easy Bb to A key conversion, much like those of the King instruments of that era were marked. There is a series of three very slight dings(1" total length) on the bottom surface of the crook. And one miniscule ding on the end of#1 slide. See the pictures. Playability of the horn is not affected by these dings. This horn would be great to add to your display collection or simply and enjoy playing anywhere. vintage trumpet 1940s-1950s Windsor - Buescher Elkhart Ind USA nickel + brass
I will have the trumpet shipped on the next business day. USPS $10 parcel or $25 priority, to the continental USA only. The trumpet here is a Windsor likely from the 1940s-1950s. Windsor was under the Buescher maker of trumpets and some of the tubing shapes are distinctly Buescher is style. serial number R2564- 7. The bell is smaller like a peashooter at 4 3/16" Before I describe the trumpet I'd like to say. I enjoyed the focused sound of it and this was a back up trumpet for me. It could use a cleaning by a repair tech who could also replace the felts/corks in the valves so they line up well and the 1st valve needs new felts and corks so it doesn't make a clinking sound anymore. That said a few more repairs if wanted are the 2nd valve slide doesn't move(had dent repair on it) The leadpipe has a solder over what looks to ... morebe a former exposed crack. this is pictured near the mouthpiece receiver and does not effect the sound. The leadpipe at that spot is bent slightly so that the angle of the trumpet is upward and to the left from the leadpipe. The taper is likely medium and the bore I didn't have measured however the trumpet plays like other smaller bore Conn trumpets. The tuning slide has 2 patches on it shown in photos(I did not have that repair done. I only had the trumpet a few months) Tuning slide moves well. water valve does Not leak. There is a screw with cap and a hole for a rod that goes to the bracing on between the 3rd slide and this would be to adjust the tuning slide however the rod is not here. The brace from the leadpipe to tuning slide tube is slightly bent. the 3rd valve cap on top has some marks on as though someone applied pliers to loosen it. The 2nd valve sticks if not oiled. 2nd slide has 3 small dents and it looks to have been repaired with a solder over one of dents. 1st valve sticks if not oiled and the pearl on the button is about 1/3 chipped off. 1st slide is ok with two small dings that are less than an 1/8 inch deep on the curved part. The bell tubing was tarnished

This is a double gated fire hose wye valve made by Elkhart Brass. Made of brass with chrome plated connectors. Valves and handles. Input side is a swivel 1.5" female NH/NST thread. Output is to two 1.5" male NH/NST discharges. This is used when you want to divide one hose line into two. With independent control for each line. For your consideration is a rare. Vintage professional jazz Bb trumpet"The Elkhart" made by the Elkhart Band Instrument Company. Elkhart Indiana, serial# 14xxx. This solidly built, heavily constructed trumpet is in excellent material and cosmetic condition, ready to play in all respects. According to research, the production date was somewhere between 1924-1928. A little history of the Elkhart Band Instrument Company(EBIC) The company was formed in 1923 by Andrew Hubble Beardsley and Carl Dimond Greenleaf. They were at one point the president of Buescher and Conn. Respectively. The company was supposedly taken over by(or merged with) Buescher in 1927 and Buescher, for some time, used the EBIC brand name as one of their instrument lines. It is believed that this horn was manufactured before the takeover/ merger. This horn is in incredible ... morecondition for an almost 90 year old trumpet. There is articulate and detailed art deco engraving on the bell. Showing the elegant bust of a magnificently antlered bull Elk, encircled by a large engraved heart, with the label" THE ELKHART BAND INST.CO. Elkhart Indiana USA" engraved on the bell below. The construction of the horn is solid and heavy. With uniquely designed, very sturdy bracing joining the bell at both ends of the lead tube. The finger buttons have Mother-of-Pearl inlaid tops. The measured bore is approx. 0.460" Is 19" 1/2" long, without mouthpiece, with a 4 1/2" bell. The original lacquer has been removed. And the finish is polished raw brass. The horn has very dark. Bold, centered tone. Articulation is exact, and chromatic slotting is definite, particularly in the upper range above the staff. The valves are quick and responsive, and all slides move with ease. Numbers 1,2, and 3 slides are marked with a line inside for a quick and easy Bb to A key conversion, much like those of the King instruments of that era were marked. Up for auction is this Antique 1926- 1927 C. G. CONN ELKHART DANCING LADY Saxophone. And original leather hard case. This saxophone features a large stunning floral engraving that depicts the image a woman dancing in a ballet pose. The serial number on this saxophone is 176989 which dates this piece to 1926. This piece is in good condition. If you are familiar with Conn instruments, then you know the quality of the vintage Conn saxophones. This saxophone is marked"MADE BY C.G. CONN L.T.D. ELKHART IND. U.S.A" with a very nice floral engraving. All mother of pearl buttons and accents are present. The finish has wear and the are several small dings. There is an"old" smell when the case is open. This is a large older 2-piece solid brass"Elkhart Chief" fire hose nozzle with rubber protector at tip. It is a very heavy polished brass nozzle. It is embossed"Elkhart" on one side and"Chief" in a recessed heart on the other side. The embossed"Open" Closed handle works very easily. The tip easily screws on and off. The inside valve is older brass not the newer steel. This is a very nice looking nozzle in excellent condition with nicks and dings from normal use. The Martin” is engraved inside this decoration. Full pearl Keys Fitell stamped on mouthpiece I took lots of pictures. Dimensions not including the neck are 24 1/2 inches which in 1921 I was told was the period of“C” horns of this length. About 9 inches at its widest point. Neck Cork worn ... morebut holds mouthpiece. The horn plays as my nephew(I don’t Play) was blowing away(Baker Street! Needs a good cleaning and polishing. Vintage Elkhart Brass Mfg. Co Hoosier Stainless Steel Fire Extinguisher 2.5 Gal
Up for auction is an Elkhart Brass Mfg. Co. Hoosier Water Fire Extinguisher. The capacity of this piece is 2.5 gallons and it is a class 2A extinguisher. Made out of stainless steel. The condition of this piece is exceptional. With the only flaw being cracked glass on the gauge(which still functions well) and some rust on the strainer that goes inside of the tank. Has typical small blemishes characteristic of a used extinguisher, but no deep scratches, dents, etc. The interior of the tank is also in perfect shape. As it is stainless steel. This would be perfect for its intended use. Or just for an awesome vintage piece to throw in a corner or on the wall of a man-cave. If there are any questions about the piece. Feel free to ask!
