This is a fine conducting baton from Newland Custom Batons. This is the baton that allowed me to obtain orchestral director position at university level. I think it is as good as conducting batons get. In terms of visibility, balance, and durability. I now use one with different shape of handle, so I have decided to find this one a deserving home. Its handle is"silhouette" shape. And is made of white oak wood. The way I held it was to put the bottom of the handle in the center of my palm, holding where the handle meets the shaft with my thumb and index finger, while putting my middle finger around the skinny part of the handle. It is perfectly balanced that way. The shaft is made of solid graphite. The top-of-line material the maker offers. This one has the thicker of the two thickness they offer. Up for auction is a vintage printing block of an American Eagle perched on crossed Batons. It measures 1.1/8 x 13/16 inches and is copper on wood. Last photo shows the block in a mirror. 6 Vintage Batons, Flag Baton, 2 Cases Majorette, Twirler, Marching Band, Star
Large Lot of Vintage Batons and Cases I do not know a whole lot about batons so I will do my best but please feel free to ask questions or correct me if I'm wrong The tips are dirty and a couple are cracking just from age Two 26" long including the star caps. The caps are slightly different sizes and shapes on each end, the batons both have indents on each end{fluted? that are marked but even with a jewelers loop I can't read them, the owners name Suzanne is etched on the end of both batons, both are straight and are in really nice condition Two 26" long including cap. The tip on 1 baton has stars& Star embossed on it, both are straight and in really nice condition 1 each 24" and 25" dimpled batons. Both have quite a few nicks& finish wear 26 1/2" long flag baton with white flag. The baton is white ... moreplastic and clear plastic or acrylic, very nice condition 29" by 4" white vinyl STAR baton case. No rips or tears just a little soiled 1 yellow and 1 red nylon flag for flag baton 29 1/2" long metallic gold vinyl baton case with outer zippered side pocket. A inside pouch pocket with tab and snap closure, tabs with snaps at each end to hold batons in place, long outside zipper closure and 2 handles. the zippers are good and work but are getting rusty( a little WD40 should help) there are also a couple of marks on the outside, the inside is dirty and needs a good cleaning plus there is one rip in the vinyl on the inside pouch pocket The women I purchased them from said she was once at champion twirler and has no children to leave them to
